Brexiteers are utterly deluded about how the rest of the EU views the UK. They are sick of our demands, our belligerence, our leaders' antagonistic international statements designed to fawn domestically to our hate filled right wing press.

Little England is in line for a spanking and Macron and Merkel are waving their paddles.

All irrelevant compared with millions of EU workers finding out is is thier jobs that will be put in harms way by elites in Brusells planning business hampering measures

Anyone with an ounce of foresight could see that people having thier livelihoods put at risk on behalf of a far away champagne quaffing elite is going to go down very badly.

You confuse Brusells with politicians accountable to thier own people.

Aren't you an advocate of going to WTO terms? Do you honestly think that'll result in unhampered free trade with the EU?

If the EU offer a bad deal, of course I'd prefer WTO, as I say the rest of the world sells into Europe, some very sucessfull. There's no genuine free market in services in the EU anyway and there are straightforward ways around access and supply chain issues.

Have you heard, Labour and Farron say our opening position should be to say we must come away with a deal. Try that kind of desperation narrative next time you are selling a house

Hold it just a minute there.
Nowhere does that say that May threatened war on Spain like you originally and very wrongly stated.

That is a retired Lord's suggestion, not that of Theresa May please note, so it certainly doesn't cut it.
And it took you how long to find that?
    :rotfl:

I did, however, state that it came from somewhere within the Conservatives.

Probably unsurprisingly I have other things to do than find links for you. I was in Cambridge when you asked last time, and when I got home (late night) had completely forgotten. It took 2 seconds to find it.

There's many ways to get your message across. Not just the EU politico's playing games. No doubt the idea is to put pressure on the other 26 to talk to the Spanish.

Really, you think so? I'd be interested to know what they are for the car industry for example. It's a very easy statement to make but it just sounds to me like you've not thought it through.

When you're in a hole, stop digging. Why not just say that you were wrong instead of making yourself look foolish?

Don't people fear a re-invigorated EU giving us a hard time now? Britains traditional role was always to try and keep the balance of power in Europe.........now a new Franco-German alliance driving the EU is going to leave us out in the cold IMO. We have walked off the pitch so can't influence future events any more. Aren't posters worried about this?

The absolute best thing about leaving the EU is that we don't have to care what Germany and France are "up to". We will be an independent country running ourselves and making our own decisions. We are playing our own game and forging our own way in the world - the German's won't be "the ref" any more - the British people will.

    Fantastic. It's so exciting. I can't wait.

It's a great way to look at the world. I suspect you'll find there will be a high price to pay but that doesn't make me right of course.

Oh and for those crowing that a third of French voted for a politician that wants to leave the EU and get out of the Euro, 37% of Brits last time around voted for a party that wanted more cycle routes and keep the OAP bus pass. That doesn't mean those policies were the reason the 37% voted that way.

We absolutely will have to care what Germany and France are "up to". If we want to sell anything to the EU (that's 45% of our export market) then we'll need to play by their rules, which will mostly be dictated by Germany/France.

Even if we don't want to sell anything to them, we're still going to have to pay attention to what our 2 biggest rivals are doing. Unless you think we're going to pull a North Korea and ignore everyone whilst claiming we're still the best.

How dare they start negotiations by stating the bleeding obvious.

Everyone knows May is bluffing when she's talking about walking away without a deal, and all it's doing is getting peoples backs up.
