None of us are ever likely to know what was said in that meeting. Perhaps it was biased reporting in Germany and perhaps it wasn't. It could well be 'Brussels Gossip' (whatever that means) but I wouldn't personally call hearing Theresa May's speech on various channels as being widely reported as it's from a single source. Of course those within her party will toe the party line and back her up.0 -

I have a feeling it would mostly be just about as exciting as watching the grass growing.
But the "widely reported" that you deride is a statement from Theresa May directly to the BBC.
We know then who said it, and when. Which is why this is being widely reported, not only by the Beeb but in the FT; the Independent; The Graudian; etc. etc. etc.
Perhaps then it was indeed biased reporting from sources supposedly including the German newspaper, Frankfurter Allgemeine Sonntagszeitung.
As I quote earlier;Former party leader Iain Duncan Smith told Channel 4 News: "The reality is there is no trouble because this is all pre-negotiation guff really, at the end of the day, so it should be put in that basket and then we'll get on with the negotiation."0 -
Indeed we do know for certain that Theresa May made that statement. We also know that it was widely reported. Of course she is going to play the reports down and of course the media were going to report it. It proves absolutely nothing but it has at least brought comfort to those who feel the need to be comforted so it's not a bad thing.0

Besides not answering my question you misquote previous posts regarding Indian investment!
Just answer my question and explain how patriotic belief in the UK's ability to do better free of certain shackles equates to your somewhat fuzzy logic of "bellyache"?
And again Jock wiggles and Jock weaves.
He says, 'Yeah but no but yeah but..."
What shackles shackle you Jock? In what way are you confined?0 -

Now kindly take your belligerence out on someone else.0 -
The EU have already indicated that they see no reason why the contents of the talks should be secret, as I believe they intend to fully brief the EU parliament as they proceed.0

I'm not worried.
Nothing would happen in the next couple of months regards the EU negotiations anyway.
We need a period of absolutely strong government. You don't go in to these negotiations with a faint heart. You have to be prepared to fight for everything you can get.
I think May will hope to paint the EU as the big bully bad guys, in case she needs to convince the public that they forced us out.
This development convinces me that my concerns that the EU being a completely autocratic organisation are well founded. There are large numbers of people in Europe who don't like the end goal of the EU project, yet they will be suppressed no matter what.
I really don't understand why the people of Scotland would want to be a minnow in such a club.
I am glad you are not worried.
Just one point. She does not have to convince the public that Britain was forced out of the EU. Haven't you forgotten that Britain voted to leave! There will be no Brexit dividend for Britain.0 -

Not only that, but the 27 member governments will also be kept closely briefed, which is how it should be in a democracy. Oh hang on, the EU is supposed to be an undemocratic, totalitarian dictator.Be careful who you open up to. Today it's ears, tomorrow it's mouth.0 -

How do I know what Junckers is like?
Well forgive the source of the link but maybe the video it includes will show you.
Junckers "Pfft!"

Great example of professionalism there.
Juncker is well known for being an unauthodox Politicien. For me I find that refreshing. There will be no Brexit dividend for Britain.0 -

And yet the EU/US trade talks were negotiated in complete secrecy for years. They weren't too fussed about keeping the EU parliament informed for that one.If I don't reply to your post,
you're probably on my ignore list.0
