Good news for biscuit lovers but bad news for workers.

And the point is......
More potential job losses due to Brexit
I would sooner believe Nestle themselves when they say this has nothing to do with Bretix...

300 jobs? Potentially very unpleasant for the 300 people who lose them, or at least some of them, however not even remotely a news item, unless people want to spin it as significant.
Companies take on & shed far greater numbers of people in the UK all the time without it making the news.0 -

Just a continual drip drip. Find profitable UK companies to buy and off shore them to somewhere cheaper. To go back to an old topic. That's why Trump was popular in the US rustbelt. More recently the French Presidential elections reflect the lack of belief in the established parties. The world is changing and it's money that has the influence.0 -

The Telegraph suggests that the UK "must" contribute towards the EU until 2020 to get a favourable deal.
That's just one year after Brexit, surely?
Also:Britain’s departure from the EU will leave a €10bn black hole in Europe’s finances which is causing significant anxiety in chancelleries across Europe, including in Berlin, which fears it will have to pick up the bill for any shortfall.
The immediate headache for Europe will be healing the gap between Britain’s departure in March 2019 and the end of the current seven-year budget framework which ends in 2020. British contributions to healing that gap could cost some €17bn euros.0 -
An interesting article in the Independent:Open Europe, which has previously produced research focusing on the negative impacts of leaving the EU single market, now says the UK can “seize the opportunity of Brexit” to boost trade. Some economists have expressed doubt over the conclusions however.
“There is enough untapped UK trade potential to offset the effects of Brexit on exports to the EU," the group's latest paper states. “In this scenario, an ambitious, outward looking UK trade strategy could complement a deep and comprehensive deal with the EU and contribute to delivering increased UK prosperity.”
I wonder what our "economist" Dave with his supposedly balanced perspective thinks about that, since he considers Brexit will amount to a "car crash"?0 -

Where do they say that?
Try here:However, a Nestle spokesman denied the proposals were anything to do with Brexit.
He told the BBC: "This move would be necessary irrespective of the decision to leave the EU."0
