Tbh and fwiw I thought French voters were more likely to stay at home when Fillon was in pole position - I think they will turn out for Macron.....
In earlier times I would have agreed without hesitation.
I am beginning to think though that it will be closer than anyone so far has considered - with a real possibility of a Le Pen win.
    Times have changed.
And Le Pen is obviously unlike her father. (Or is she?)

There's no chance le pen will win imo.

But that doesn't really matter tbh.

    Reality finally dawns on ukip:
    http://www.itv.com/news/wales/2017-03-24/ukip-access-to-european-single-market-critical-for-welsh-farmers-post-brexit/

You have to laugh. They now realise the damage that will come our way and urge the Government to avoid the consequences of leaving the EU:

"But we can only take advantage of this opportunity to reinvigorate our rural communities by ensuring that we, in Wales, do not lose out as a result of the vote to leave.

In the shorter term we have heard clear evidence that access to the Single Market place, continuation of financial support and assurances over migrant labour are critical priorities."

I presume their new slogan will be "Leave must not mean leave."

I agree it seems unlikely that tourist numbers are down, with the falling pound and inquisitive EU tourists getting a last look at the old lady before we shut the gates.

The debate seems to be degenerating to ever lower levels.

In a thread I did in Discussion Time I suggest she could win, and that the liberal media could be underestimating her support just as they did for Trump.

She is the change candidate, Macron is same ole same ole

What point are you trying to make?

You think sending the EU a bunch of money and getting a portion of it back and told where to spend it makes sense?

We cannot be trusted with our own money, right?

I view paying about 1% of our GDP for services and access to a market of 500 million wealthy consumers as if they're domestic sales, paired with some of the most far reaching trade tentacles in the world impeccable value for money.

Someone has to pay for the services the EU provides, and it's only right and fair that it should be those using them, which on part is us.

What part of that do you not see?

That is about as likely as discovering that British soap operas are real.
That Eastenders actually is a part of London with the characters real, not acting.
Or the Emmerdale is actually a real little community hidden away in the dales.

Mind you, that would explain the reasoning behind behind such blinkered arguments as those coming from some pro-remain posters like yourself in these forums who cannot see further than the end of their noses, it seems.

Insulting other posters seems a strange reaction and not one to win an argument. Stop being angry. You voted for Brexit and you are getting it starting next week.
There will be no Brexit dividend for Britain.

There was an interesting piece on Marine Le Pen on R4 the other day. They said it was hard to call as there was an extremely high number of undecided voters. Can't remember the actual number but it was something like 40%. So she has everything to play for. They also said that she was likely to win the first round, but the question is whether that will provoke a backlash and an anything but Le Pen vote in the second.

The other interesting point they made which I was totally unaware of, was the extent to which she had repositioned the Front Nationale to include in her circle gays, Jews and other groups traditionally marginalised by the Far Right. This in turn had caused some of the original FN supporters to move their support to Marianne Le Pen, her niece, whose views are more in line with those of her grandfather, Jean Marie.

Listening to that, I was left of the opinion that she could very well win, even if she wasn't yet the favourite. She does subtlety and grey areas better than other far right politicians. The commentator said that she was of the far right, but should not be thought of as a fascist, as was her father.

No what he is saying to you is that Welsh farmers depended very heavily on EU subsidies and they have been told by Alun Cairns that there is no certainty these subsidies will be guaranteed after Brexit. It completely baffles me why Wales voted brexit.!
