    Reuters:
Deutsche Bank (DBKGn.DE) has chosen a new office for its London headquarters, signalling a vote of confidence in Britain's capital despite the country's decision to leave the European Union.
The German lender has entered into exclusive negotiations with developer Land Securities (LAND.L) over a 25-year lease on a new building to be constructed at 21 Moorfields in the City of London, according to a memo sent to staff on Thursday and seen by Reuters.
"The move underlines the bank's commitment to the City of London and the importance it attaches to being an employer of choice in the capital," the memo, sent by Garth Ritchie, Deutsche Bank's UK chief executive and head of its corporate and investment bank, said.
Deutsche Bank, which employs around 7,000 people in London, is due to begin transferring staff to the new building, which will house its corporate and investment bank, in the second half of 2023.
"The site will provide a long-term, sustainable location for the Corporate & Investment Bank (CIB) and infrastructure colleagues who need to be situated alongside CIB. Locating these staff in one building will increase productivity and strengthen controls and communication between functions," the memo said.

    U]EVIDENCE:[/U]
Retail figures rise 1.4% - that is fact supported by an official government figure.
Supposition = the headline: "Higher fuel prices take toll on retail sales." - when the fact remains that sales increased.
    Against expectations

    ......snip........

Explain if you can why one (official government, please note from the ONS) version as posted by Conrad is then twisted into negativity - by the BBC whom you are attempting to call unbiased..

    .

Well if sales rose by 1.4% but volumes fell by 1.4% seems perfectly sensible that prices rose too.

So volumes fell and fuel prices rise over the same period. Just a coincidence?

"The underlying trend suggests that rising petrol prices in particular have had a negative effect on the overall quantity of goods bought over the last three months."

Not the view of the BBC, just the informed opinion of an ONS statistician, a public servant speaking on the record doing her job, not biased BBC at all.

Or as the FT said last month

"Rising food and fuel prices in Britain contributed to a second consecutive month of falling retail sales in January, indicating higher prices are starting to eat into household spending power."
Few people are capable of expressing with equanimity opinions which differ from the prejudices of their social environment. Most people are incapable of forming such opinions.

This is what the ONS had to say about the retail figures:
“February’s retail sales figures show fairly strong growth, though the underlying three-month picture shows falling sales as February's figures follow two consecutive months of decline in December and January. The monthly growth in February is seen across all store types. The underlying trend suggests that rising petrol prices in particular have had a negative effect on the overall quantity of goods bought over the last three months.”

You need to be a bit careful of using a single month's figures for retail sales as things like the weather and the number of weekends in the month can have a large impact. If comparing Feb 2017 vs Feb 2016 there aren't even the same number of days in the month!

Oh sorry am I being negative again?

Inflation comes and goes and was higher than now during most of the last 40 years in the glorious EU. You guys imply life as an EU member was all milk n honey.

On another note I see at least one of the pro EU marches is to go ahead despite the Police being pretty well occupied at the moment. Selfish.

Surely we need to carry on as normal so as not to give in to the murderous idiots. I suspect that if the protest was against the EU then you wouldn't have a problem with it.

I note that no weekend sporting events have been cancelled either. Selfish.

I would say the same if it were an anti EU or an EDL large scale march. Yes we should carry on with sporting events etc though.

You're right I am one eyed on Brexit, I am absolutely sure both us and the core European exporters to us will act in an adult manner. No Govt will seek to harm its own citizens and trade.
We will adapt to the modest inconveniences thrown up.

I just ordered a DSI Rev 2, a new American synth over the net. Nothing could have been more simple. The USA is of course not in the SM nor has a trade deal with the EU. According to your sides narrative this should have been a difficult endeavour, where it will be stuck in a port for months on end, with mountains of documentation making this transaction very difficult. Ooooh nooo the end is nigh
