Leaking a document like that must be close to economic espionage. Isn't that actually a crime?
There will be no Brexit dividend for Britain.

Again this very thing was discussed some time back, funny how it's all coming true!!

I posted on the Dutch flower exports to us after seeing a documentary about that very trade, which showed how much of our own growing trade in places like Lincolnshire and Sussex had lost out

Apparently there was a 15% drop in sales in December. My bet would be that's when a lot of importers ran out of decent forward bought currency.

Might be wrong and all those nimble Lincolnshire based growers had a great December harvest of cheap chrysanthemums.

As has been argued time and again, you will see more home sourcing thanks to the pound reaching the fair value level as recommended by the OECD and others

    What nations are that then?
Don't blame me, I voted Remain.

Home sourcing of what? British cut flowers in December - come on.

Maybe Brits are adapting by buying less cut flowers but paying more for them in local currency? Doesn't that sound more likely?

Why do you keep mentioning the month as being relevant to a decline in the importation of flowers grown under glass?

Why you were so happy with our trade imbalance is quite beyond me.

Every other politician is now fixated on the left behind voters, those who's lives were wrecked by globalisation, and mass influx of cheap workers (thus lack of need to train UK workers) yet still you rattle on about small price rises and ignore the great benefits an economic rebalancing will convey

Fair value competitive currency is vital to our transformation, look how Germany benefitted from a cheap currency

Ah yes, I was just reading in Reuters about the USD and what one of Trumps advisors was saying:
Trump's top trade adviser had also said on Tuesday that Germany was using a "grossly undervalued" euro to exploit its trading partners. The accusations drew rebuttals from German and Japanese officials, but looked likely to run for some time.

For once I agree with Trump. Germany has run a trade surpus well in excess of the maximum allowed under EU rules since inception of the euro. But it,s Germany so it's OK.

Ambrose Evans Pritchard wrote an excellent article on the subject in today's Telegraph.
