Must have taken some digging to find a post that's 2 years old.

Rather sad in my opinion, but hey ho....everybody needs a hobby.
You should be glad he didn't find your facebook page.
Don't blame me, I voted Remain.

your negative attitude to democrcy has been noted on many occasions

Where did I say anything negative about democracy?

You'll find I said I don't trust a group of incompetent, self centred "representatives" any less than I trust an unelected, self centred millionaire.
As far as I can tell, I'm the one rooting for democracy (let Parliament decide) instead of autocracy (let May decide).

Or are you banging on the democracy drum because you feel that a 52% vote allows an unelected official carte blanche to do whatever she wants without having to run it past anyone?
hopefully we will be rid of the autocratic rule of the EU elite but only time will tell.

You still refuse to accept that EU politicians are elected too? And you somehow think that our autocratic elite (with a history of shafting everyone that isn't them) is prefereable to the EU autocratic elite (which instigates such repressive systems like the working time directive and maternity leave)?

Moby why are you so afraid of independence? Is life so terrible inside independent nations?

What other Thatcher creations are you so attached to?
So you support Scottish Independence then by your logic above? I happen to have an attachment to the Union. By the way we are an independent nation already Conrad ....the EU is a mutually supportive club we chose to join... not a state in the USSR! My point is we are getting smaller and smaller!

We currently have free access to a huge market on our doorstep

    Free?

£25 million per day club fee
    FOM
    Loss of sovereignty

Does S Korea with a free trade deal face these 'free' costs? Will Canada?

Scotland voted to remain in the UK in 2014, knowing there was an EU referendum on the cards.
By a small majority, after being told that "leaving the union meant leaving the EU". Had they been told that they might leave either way (and lets face it, no-one, even most Brexiteers actually thought it'd be a leave vote). The SNP's mandate, on which they were re-elected, includes re-running for independence should there be any material change. Leaving the EU, despite all of Scotland voting to remain, seems like a material change to me.

It's clear that Scotland is politically very different to England, if you look at the results of any referrendum or election in recent history. Plus, if we're actually such a drain on England financially, and just a toxic nuisance, why not just let us get on with it?

Literally every argument Brexiteers make for leaving the EU re-inforces the Scottish argument for leaving the UK. We want sovereignty back. We don't want to be ruled by an unelected elite. We want to deal with you as friendly neighbors rather than unwilling pawns?

Why is it ok for England to drag us along on their quest for sovereignty whilst denying us doing the same thing?

Scottish people will not vote to leave the UK, there is no break-up.

We and Europe will remain mutually supportive, who said otherwise?

In order to do approx £1.2bn trade per day, that's approximately a 0.0000000019% membership fee. That's not even a rounding error, that's for all intents and purposes free.

    Loss of sovereignty
Has this alleged loss of sovereignty actually impacted you at all?

If you're so sure they won't vote to leave, let them vote and get the SNP to shut up about it.

You only need to look at the language you use in your post to know the difference between those who support Scottish independence and those who oppose it. Constant references to England, rather than the UK.

Clearly minds are already made up when language like that is used, a lucid denial of the reality that the country in which we currently live is the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland.

Not Scotland, and not England. It's a curious set up I'll grant you, but the above is completely true. The sovereign nation is the UK, and we take decisions as a whole.
