Where is the evidence of you wanting Brexit to be a success?

I don't think I've ever said otherwise, but I haven't registered my political opinion anywhere. I've no idea how I prove whether I want Brexit to be a success beyond the obvious - I'll need to live through it. I think it's a stupid idea we should never be doing, but since it's too late for that, I really hope it's a success.

That said, wanting it to succeed doesn't mean I can't express concerns about it not succeeding. And I genuinely can't see how it'll succeed with May at the helm.
As for the "half the electorate" part I wonder if you have such a difficulty with comprehension as it appears?
Maybe, but I don't know if you're comprehension up there. How is 48% +/- 2% NOT half of anything?

I've no interest on going back over why I don't think it'll work, some people agree with me and others will write it off as complaining, and there's no middle ground.

I've never seen anything so divisive across so much of the population.

A strengthening UK-US alliance, with May first in line for a meeting, will give us considerable leverage on all sorts of fronts going forward.

Even on WTO terms, our exports to the EU will persist, business soon adapts and our currency already wipes out the tariff total plus we would collect higher tariff total which we can re-invest in business. Barriers are simply challenges, the very same the US, Japan and others work with perfectly well.

The City will thrive regardless of some minor staff re-locations.

Certainly not in as much of the population as you wish? Or think. Whatever.
Of course, ignoring fact and then telling a majority they are wrong just because you - for undefined reasons - THINK they are wrong will do that, cause division.
    Go figure.

The most common sentiment I hear from Remainers is they feel duped, in that they feel their side of the argument dealt largely in facts, whereas Leave was a tissue of lies.

This is due to them filtering out the vast much more serious lies and manipulations from Remain.

They cite the £350m not yet going into the NHS, another deliberate manipulation on their part. We have not left and in any event whatever figure was used, the public understood the figure to be huge.

I don't recall telling anyone they were wrong. I certainly didn't there. But I agree, telling people they were wrong had a big part in Brexit and Trump happening.

There's absolutely no give on either side, which is why this place has turned into an echo chamber.

The EU is certainly doing a grand job.

What 'give' would see feel was equitable?

Remain told us a Norway / Swiss deal was 'the worst of all deals, halve in, halve out, democracy by fax'.

Seems pretty clear that to any rational person....

    - 20% currency devaluation
    - Factory gate inflation shooting up - now at 15%
    - CPI, whilst still low, is on a rapidly climbing trajectory
    - Employment growth slowing
    - and significant companies re-evaluating their presence in the UK

.... should at the very least be setting off smoke alarms in the cockpit - even if the pilot has not yet had to broadcast a Mayday call.

Do we need to dig up your posts on how a low pound is good for us again? Or your old posts on how 5%+ CPI inflation wasn't high?

You never did respond the last 2 times I showed you your own words.

We'll see what happens with the meeting. She was amongst the last to have a phone meeting, and Farage has met Trump, what, twice already?

I'm not sure how close ties with the protectionist US will give us any leverage going forward; it's a big market, but are you implying that we can successfully threaten to cozy up to the US for trade if the EU deal doesn't work? Do you know how hard it is to work & trade with the US?

Yup, trade will go on fairly well under WTO, and City Of London will still be there.

    .

Trump wants to make BI-LATERAL deals with similarly advanced nations that do not under-cut one another with ultra cheap labour.

Example > they sell us tariff free wine and peanuts, we sell them financial services tariff free (we already sell one another huge sums of financial services - might as well make it free trade)

US trade deals take on average 14 months.

It is the EU squabble club where talks take a decade, although not in their talks with us as we are already 100% compliant and fully aligned.
