If we vote for Brexit what happens

All this xenophobic commentary does is push peoples' voting intentions underground, so to speak.
People won't readily admit to voting UKIP. This leaves the pollsters with a bit of a problem doesn't it?
I freely admit to preferring immigrants from some parts of the world over others. The world is awash with potential migrants, so we can afford to be choosy I reckon.
If someone is sufficiently embarrassed by their voting choice such that they would lie to a pollster they need to ask themselves a few questions. That said if I ever get roped into a survey or something I always lie - don't know why - just for fun I think.0 -
I am contrasting the suppose non - xenophobia of the remainers against the long term discrimination (many would say racism) against black africa (and other countries.). Obviously a key point is they the UK have indeed been part of it.
I could be forgiven for believing that you believe that because the UK was part of the discrimination that that somehow makes it OK.
Moral compass its set by being no worse than the other fellow.
the discrimination is wrong or right irrespective if it was part of a campaign :
Couple of things. (1) I'm not agreeing there is discrimination against your black Africans and (2) I'm not saying discrimination is right by virtue of the implication of the UK or the lack of campaigning.
I was faced with, what I see, as swapping an EU tariff system for a near identical UK tariff system. Therefore in terms of brexit it's irrelevant in terms of making a choice.no, the EU trade policy and the deliberate choice to impose tariffs on our near neighbours in black africa, was due to the politics of French and German argicultural policy, even though they knew the harm they were doing.
If you say so. There are politics even in the monkeysphere. Maybe better arguments should've been made about the mutuality of trade because, effectively, we've spent the last 40 years spending more for spuds and done nothing about it.
A tip - your argument about discrimination isn't persuasive and isn't working. Try telling people they could have cheaper spuds but don't come across as an expert or educated - we don't do that anymore.you will never believe any good will come out of brexit
Whereas if Brexit turns out to be a stupid idea you're a big enough man to admit it?0 -
Yawwwwwn. :wall:Don't blame me, I voted Remain.0

You should've noted I have a preference for myself, immediate family, extended family, friends, neighbours and so on. I'm going to prioritise them (and vice versa I assume?) over you, your immediate family and so on. To call me a xenophobe because these people happen to be mainly white and christian is ridiculous and misses the point by a country mile.
Doesn't mean I'm not a xenophobe as well of course.

I at no point mentioned skin colour - in fact both you and they could be any colour; the result is the same.
So the point has most certainly not been missed at all, has it?
Rendering your point irrelevant yet again.
"Doesn't mean I'm not a xenophobe as well of course."
Quite so.
My point entirely; hurrah.
Do you have a point to all this?
Or are you purely seeking to up your post count by nit-picking and providing irrelevant argument in a concentrated attempt to prove everyone else wrong?
Which isn't working, FYI.0 -

I note that no one has commented upon this years results of Instead’s 2017 Global Talent Competitive Index.
This index measures the extent to which countries attract, grow and retain talent and how they translate their efforts into output

"Nissan will conduct a review of its Sunderland plant’s competitiveness once the UK’s future relationship with the EU is settled, the head of the Japanese carmaker has said.
Carlos Ghosn’s remarks on the sidelines of the World Economic Forum in Davos may raise concerns about the commitment of company to the UK, following its pledge in October to turn the factory into one of the biggest car plants in the world."
A bit of a wobble? There will be no Brexit dividend for Britain.0 -

Note the wording: "once the UK’s future relationship with the EU is settled".
Also before that: "will conduct a review of its Sunderland plant’s competitiveness" - which let's be honest could mean just about anything.
For one who was so derisive of apparent ambiguity in our governments stance regarding Brexit up until this week at least, you seem remarkably unwilling to see the ambiguity in that statement from Nissan.0 -
