Not just EU Nationals. There has been some unpleasant remarks made on this forum to Brits who have chosen to leave the Country.
At least though these aforesaid have had the courage of their convictions.
Which is more than can be said for some in these forums.0 -
Dutch PM Mark Rutte and Martin Schulz the European Parliament President clash in Davos:Hundreds of business leaders and political figures attending the Davos forum witnessed how fundamentally disunited Europeans are when they are confronted with challenges and the solutions needed to overcome them."The whole idea of an ever-closer Europe has gone, it's buried," said Dutch premier Mark Rutte0

That's the negative side of internet forums. Though if those that left were actually positive about the UK and contributed something to the UK's well being then perhaps it needn't be so.0 -
I think I have said before that I'm not exactly a Theresa May fanboi.
But I have to say that she looks to have had a really good past few days and is beginning to show her mettle; very promising IMHO.
I'm not the only one either, according to The Telegraph.

I can almost hear senior EU politico's groaning, having perhaps underestimated the resolve which they now clearly see they face.0 -

One of the things I like about her is that she doesn't do spin, like many people in power do, such as Cameron, Osborn, Blair and his cronies like Balls, etc. Another thing is that she is very experienced – she has been in politics for decades. From what I've heard about her, she seems measured, direct and straight thinking. I remember seeing a replayed speech she made decades ago, to the Tory party, where she talked 'fairness for all' kind of stuff (despite being met with a stony silence by the Tory audience). It takes a lot of guts to do stuff like that.
And I like her manners and the way she dresses.  (How shallow of me.)0 -
You're drowning in a sea of confirmation bias man.
As are you.
But....this is key here.
Apart from mocking everyone elses thoughts - where have you written your own thoughts? You are happy to pick apart others, but don't seem too happy to state your own opinion - on anything. Seriously, check out your posts, it's all based on the past (i.e. confirmed stuff where you can claim you knew that all along) and anything on the future is simply mocking anyone on "the other side", carefully stating nothing at all.
So forgive us if we don't take too much notice. At least others, on both sides, have points, and are willing to make and discuss them.0 -

It would have been very easy for her to get up the other day and be very vague about the future in an attempt to appeal to as many people as possible (leavers, remainers and "hard Brexit supporters/"soft Brexit" supporters) and also attempt to appeal to the SNP. But she didn't do any of that, she left everyone in no doubt that "hard Brexit" is coming, and the value of the pound shot up during the speech.0 -

As I've remarked on more than one occasion I'm happy to admit, as a human being, I have a number of biases and a desire to develop a narrative to try and explain the randomness.
Obviously I'm in a tiny minority on this board of Vulcans who practice nothing but truth, logic and impartially unhindered by species specific biasGraham_Devon wrote: »Apart from mocking everyone elses thoughts - where have you written your own thoughts? Oh another person that thinks they're in charge of defining 'we'. You ought to design a badge for the unbelievers.
My views on Brexit are fairly clear and have been articulated. I think/ hope we'll be fine but just not as fine as if we stayed and it seems like a bit of a kerfuffle just because people don't like foreigners that much.0 -

Fake narrative^
We are concerned with mass immigration, the country did not fall apart when we had immigration in the tens of thousands prior to Blair 2004.
We value sovereignty and think a people making it's own local decisions is more likely to make better decisions.
We want to be able to remove bad decision makers and know exactly who to blame.
We could use the £25 million daily club fee - Surrey is £170 m short on social care - so 7 days EU club fee would come in handy
We want a better global engagement0
