They bought ARM at a 40% premium above it's market price.
And then in your next post you say they're asset stripping.
If you use the IP properly after buying at the right price then it's more than viable.
I've seen huge IP returns in short periods in a different sector, when properly utilised.💙💛 💔0 -

And that is exactly what they did.
The fact that you consider this action to be aberrant says a very great deal about you, and nothing whatsoever about anyone else.
Actually it shows that the Germans were stupid and the migrants are laughing about it. You can find the clips, things like burning down the hostel because there's not enough nutella. Wonderful.
Treating them in the manner David Cameron suggested was arguably treating them with more humanity, making that dangerous trip with the smuggler less appealing or likely because you wouldn't be accepted if you managed to make it. You needed to stay put and apply for asylum.
You probably disagree with him purely because of tribalism. There's no answer to that, but David Cameron was right and Merkel was wrong, it's not the first time and it probably won't be the last. But when all else fails, break out the feels... claim the moral high ground and ignore facts and reality in the hope you can "shame" people into submission - "liberal" left playbook 101. That won't work with me. As much as it may make your skin crawl, Farage was 100% right about Merkel and Brendan Cox has no business getting involved any more than the parents of Lee Rigby or families of the 7/7 victims, and that's aside from the fact Brendan is wrong. It's a slippery slope to not lay responsibility at the feet of your politicians.
Edit:
Just to show you what no vetting does for you as a society...Amri's father told a radio station his son had left Tunisia seven years ago as an illegal immigrant.
He was accused of violent robbery in his home country and served four years in an Italian prison over allegations he was involved in burning down a school, according to reports.

Merkel was, and is still, spectacularly wrong. It will indeed go down in history badly.0 -

You'll forgive me if I don't dignify this with a rebuttal.

would you like to provide evidence to support that we are creating more companies (by value) than we are selling overseas?
the overseas account seems to show net foreign holding (balance of what the UK hold overseas to what foreigners hold here) seems to be declining, our foreign debts risings and the net flow of dividends changing unfavourably.
All bad news long term and for future generations.
Keep up. All these companies being sold to foreigners is a massive indication of confidence in the post-Brexit UK economy. How can that be bad news for future generations?
The time between the plummet in sterling and the eventual recognition that the UK isn't a basket case will be setting us up nicely for a future boom in exports - exports of dividends.
Lots of people on your bus seem to be saying it's unbridled good news. How come you don't correct them instead of nit picking about whether business creation is within the UK's skill set?0 -

Merry Christmas.
It is neither arrogant or heartless to suggest helping these people in a way which allows them to remain in a country that speaks their language, or a dialect of it, that does not encourage them from taking a perilous journey in inadequate transportation and at the same time allows other countries the opportunity to vet those applying for asylum elsewhere prior to arrival and acceptance into society.
It's just sensible. Taking refuge in a country where there's a possibility to rebuild your life because you're able to get a job, whereas in a country where you don't speak the language typically you can't get a job. Nothing about what Merkel did made any sense whatsoever, it was the pinnacle of virtue signalling and the German people are paying for it, some with their lives.
Merry Christmas to you too.0 -
Share prices have soared since Brexit so your knock-down prices jibe looks rather misplaced.
And of course foreign owned companies have always bought UK firms just as our companies have bought abroad.
I guess it's annoying though when, despite continued doom laden forecasts, the reality is somewhat different. Others see Post-Brexit UK as perfectly workable and are queuing up to buy a slice of UK PLC.
The only thing I find annoying is people proving the sky didn't fall in on June 24th and extrapolating this into an indicator that Brexit will be the best thing since sliced bread.
It's 6 months tomorrow since the referendum. I don't think we're much closer to answering the question posed in the title of the thread.0 -

I am merely asking what evidence you have that the UK is creating more business value than we are selling to foreigners. You have repeatly claimed that this is so.0 -

I've repeatedly pondered and discussed the concept but, unless done so inadvertently, I have never once claimed the UK is creating business value faster (or vice versa) than it's being sold to foreigners.
Many are implying that the sale of UK companies is unmitigated good news. Maybe you should start correcting them instead of arguing about the relative rates of business creation and sale.0 -
Hope Not Hate's appeal for funds to sue The Toad Farage immense success!
https://www.theguardian.com/politics/2016/dec/21/hope-not-hate-reports-huge-response-to-nigel-farage-legal-fund-appeal“We have been overwhelmed by the level of support we have received: thousands have donated to Hope Not Hate in response to our appeal,” a spokesman said.
Farage’s team said they had no comment about whether he might withdraw the remarks, which were made on LBC radio on Tuesday.
God I would love to see this odious little oik and his vile supporters suffer some consequences for the hatred and division they sow.0 -

Occam's Razor.
"... the simplest hypothesis proposed as an explanation of phenomena is more likely to be the true one than is any other available hypothesis, that its predictions are more likely to be true than those of any other available hypothesis, and that it is an ultimate a priori epistemic principle that simplicity is evidence for truth."
Heads in what trough was that? The one full of evidence and truth rather than dogma and rhetoric? I'm thankful I take mine from the former.
Yes I saw that....apparently he had been on the German security watch list for months; he had set fire to a refugee camp in Lampedusa before being allowed into Germany!
I suppose you would tend to be happy with your Occam's Razor rationale so long as you were not one of the racially profiled groups being targeted. When the police come knocking on your door for no other reaon than you 'fit the profile' you may not be so accepting of the 'rationale and truth'.
Perhaps Merkel could have done more to 'check out' all the new arrivals etc but she was left 'holding the baby' and your solutions would have been considered. Repatriation of a foreign national is a legal nightmare.....it often takes years and you need the co-operation of the receiving country in any event! Our Govmt was embarrassingly silent and unsupportive because the problem was not on our borders. That's nothing to be proud of and sooner or later there will be payback! Often you'll find that payback tends to be a more unco-operative approach towards our attempts to deport illegals in the future!0
