    thanks for educating me
Godwin's law (or Godwin's rule of Hitler analogies)[1][2] is an Internet adage asserting that "As an online discussion grows longer, the probability of a comparison involving Hitler approaches 1"[2][3]—that is, if an online discussion (regardless of topic or scope) goes on long enough, sooner or later someone will compare someone or something to Hitler.

Promulgated by American attorney and author Mike Godwin in 1990,[2] Godwin's law originally referred specifically to Usenet newsgroup discussions.[4] It is now applied to any threaded online discussion, such as Internet forums, chat rooms, and comment threads, as well as to speeches, articles, and other rhetoric[5][6] where reductio ad Hitlerum occurs.

In 2012, "Godwin's law" became an entry in the third edition of the Oxford English Dictionary.[7]

Eddie Hitler was an Ade Edmundson character in Bottom and has a very similar appearance

Before that he played Vyvyan Basterd in The Young ones

The UK Government's take on it:

Yes, Just notes taken from a meeting somewhere within 10 Downing St.

Maybe I've seen too many episodes of The Thick of It but I'm sure it was leaked by the government, just a question of who and why. I'm sure all will become clear later.

It's is a shame and a lost opportunity that British politicians have not taken the same positive view of change during Britains 40 years of membership.

The EU hasn't delivered what it promised. ;)

It remains what it always was. A politically driven dream.
