As predicted UK growth falls of a cliff following the Brexit vote whilst the EU steams off serenely into the sunset:

Maybe. There's still no indication that May has an actual plan, though0

I quite plans, especially on major issues.
Tell me then.
What is the plan to fix the Euro and the imbalance between Northern Europe and Southern Europe?
What is the plan to fix the porous Southern European borders and prevent another 1 million+ unproven migrants from destablising Greece and Italy?0 -
So let's just understand your position.
You complain about the govt being inept for not spelling out their position in a level of detail that satisfies you (regardless of whether it satisfies anyone else).
Then you complain about a report which says the govt has no clearly defined plan - due to the level of complexity and resources required to formulate it.
My conclusion is that you
A. Have never managed or have any understanding of major projects
B. Will complain about everything.
The government's poor handling of Brexit so far has put wind in the sails of the Lib Dem leader (who I would've had to google a week ago) and Farage although I accept the latter is also in recent receipt of some presidential fairy dust. They'll be sweating on the appeal because if they lose they're going to look even bigger chumps. The result of the appeal won't be until 2017 - this could've been through parliament already and the government would've won (probably).
Whether the government has the semblance of a plan actually isn't the key concern for me. If they have one I'd like to see a position paper and, if they don't, they should say why not and when they might be able to issue a position paper.
I note the government 'don't recognise' the leaked memo but didn't confirm whether its contents were factual or not. Like the Nissan deal where 'no chequebook' was involved - desperate not to get caught in a lie so a drive around the houses to avoid a straight answer.
Either its reasonable or not to expect more transparency and your conclusions, as well as being wrong, are pointless and meaningless. I wasn't going to mention it but as you think it adds to the debate I've concluded you dance naked in front of a poster of Mrs May every night smeared in Marmite.0 -

A single market without barriers visible or invisible giving you direct and unhindered access to the purchasing power of over 300 million of the worlds wealthiest and most prosperous people' Margaret Thatcher0 -

Come on that's a deflection. Theresa May made a speech last night in which she said she wanted the UK to lead the world in free trade. Is it too much to ask if that means she has a vision of the UK in or out of the customs union?0 -
And you seem to believe that reducing our population (but only by removing foreigners) will improve our standard of living when there's no correlation.
I'm not saying more people is necessarily better. What I'm saying (again), is that destroying our economy to reduce population is completely counter productive - any benefits you see from reduce population will be completely wiped out by the negatives from the reduced economy and reduced population, except in a macro scale, where that house you feel you deserve might become affordable.
NOWHERE will you find I have advocated expelling any one except foreign criminals.
I believe we should stop the population relentless growth by restricting immigration to the low 10s of thousand.
In the longer term population all over the world must stop growing and start to fall. It seems quite surprising that people really believe that increasing world population is a good thing. The huge damage to our planet is clear : increasing climate affecting gases, more pollution of your oceans, more destruction of the rain forests, increasing desertification, reducing glaciers which will cause some of our major rivers to dry up. The evidence is everywhere;
A falling world wide population implies that individual countries must have falling populations too.
In the case of the UK there are no good things about increasing population: what are the negatives of a smaller population - larger houses per family, lower pollution, more road space etc.
I accept there are some that believe the 'demographic time bomb' will cause massive harm to the economy in 30-40 years time. They somehow believe that technology and human engenuity have somehow reached a plateau and there are no further productivity gains to be made from robotics etc.
I don't see any evidence for that view and anyway 30-40 years is a long time and one can always change one's policies in the light of new information in the future0 -

No, it's an illustration that the average EU citizen has never really been invited to inspect the detailed plans. In fact, May is carrying on the tradition really.
Juncker is not a fan of open democracy, we know this.
I can't see how May can have a concrete plan. The political undercurrent when the negotiations begin could change the whole approach from either party.
My plan would be simple. Let non-political bureaucrats from both sides spend hours in backrooms sweating out the nitty gritty of a range of options, without political pride and playing to the gallery affecting things.
Then they should have a break, and present a position statement to their own respective parties.0 -

there is no such thing as a bureaucrat (human being) without an set of beliefs0
