Ive noticed a proportion of Remainers entering the acceptance phase elsewhere. One ardent remainer for the first time asked me a question about my thoughts of prospects for UK retirees wanting to settle in Europe, and I think he was happy with my response. Prior to this he was Mr hostile and closed minded.

I've noticed a softening of the stance of the quitters. They seem willing to accept free movement of workers and membership of the single market now. Which is good because it leaves us in a very similar position to before, since the vast majority of EU immigrants in the UK are in fact working.

Even Conrad's softened. He's gone from us getting a sweet deal/ not needing one to now suggesting we'll have to accept a nominal slap on the wrist for leaving.

Pressure builds on May to forget the appeal and put this through parliament. Given the US result she must now realise that attempting to get a bigger majority out of this is high risk indeed.

Farage has unfortunately been given the gift of some presidential fairy dust too!

"First they came for the Socialists, and I did not speak out—
Because I was not a Socialist.

Then they came for the Trade Unionists, and I did not speak out—
Because I was not a Trade Unionist.

Then they came for the Jews, and I did not speak out—
Because I was not a Jew.

Then they came for me—and there was no one left to speak for me."

I thought the above was apt, on the day the Brexiteers favourite Politicien was elected President of the USA.

As can many other trades, if the individual is deemed unfit/incompetent. I don't understand what you're getting at.
given here we are discussing John McDonnell MP, who would decide whether he should be thrown out of parliament?

How about the Parliamentary Ethics Committee? It was created to do exactly this sort of thing.

no they were not; they were heros because most people wrongly thought the people concerned were murdering criminals wereas it seems they were not : it was done in a wave of revulsion for the IRA & the killing of Blacklock
    however the judges failed them.
So it's, in fact, not similar?

You`re right to flag up the the rise of fascism on mainland Europe, be it Hungary, France, Germany and the rest, its reminds us that in our quiet British way we've opted for a fundamental change in direction without the need to resort to far right politics.

The EU has decided to hold another meeting of the '27' without inviting the UK.

Should we continue to pay our membership fees when we aren't allowed to the meetings?

Considering we get most of it back I doubt they care.

Jeremy Corbyn says Donald Trump's US election win is a 'global wake-up call' in furious backlash

Yes Mr Corbyn let's see just what happens to The Labour Party when you and your silly rich, hypocritical, elitist Labour MPs refuse to trigger Article 50.....and Labour look at the planks in your own eyes....

PS Thoughts with those that lost their lives in Croydon this morning...
