How will remoaners cope as it slowly dawns there will be no horror?
We'll certainly be quite happy for brexit to turn out all rainbows and unicorn farts. We'll be surprised, but happy.
Alas, I fear my definition of "success" is going to be wildly different from yours. The cognitive dissonance is going to require a wardrobe full of Panadol.0 -

And it may be news to you, but she doesn't have the power to do so.“I could see that, if not actually disgruntled, he was far from being gruntled.” - P.G. Wodehouse0 -
Juncker today. (Reuters)The European Union will not go to "war" or seek revenge on Britain in negotiating its exit from the bloc but London cannot be part of the single market without accepting free migration, EU chief executive Jean-Claude Juncker said on Tuesday.
"Our British friends should know that, yes, we want to have a normal, friendly relationship with the United Kingdom; that, yes, there is no question of going to war or negotiating in a spirit of revenge with the British; but that if the British really want to have free access to the internal market, they must agree to respect all its rules, including on the free movement of workers," Juncker said in speech in Bruges.
Sounds reasonable.“I could see that, if not actually disgruntled, he was far from being gruntled.” - P.G. Wodehouse0 -
I'd expect them to hold themselves to a higher standard than some bloke posting on a message board. No?
I'd be all for them having to issue corrections/retractions on the same page and font as the incorrect article, as well as some penalty for breaching a professional ethics agreement.
I know you're trying to frame it as me wanting to shut down the press I don't like, but I just want the press to assume some basic responsibility for the deliberately rabble rousing lines they run with to cause outrage in order to generate sales
:
who would you want to define the professional standards
who would you wish to determin innocence or guilt
who would you want to determine the penalty
and just to confirm it would be ok if it were a local newspaper or an online blogg or on the radio or tv or if said by a politician?0 -

This minds me of Corbyns 'new politics' which his side then completely ignores.
I'm daily called a Brexi!!!!!er, xenophobe etc, so lets cut the sanctimony please.
I do hope you're not one of those that moans about rubber neckers when passing an accident, only for you to then..........rubber neck, lol0 -
Yes, the message is softening, and my bet is we will appear to have caved in by accepting an immigration quota, and that's the extent of our punishment, lol.
Note his use of 'free movement of 'workers' - instead of 'labour'. Sounds like people must have a job to come to.
Trade will not be hampered0 -
I'm just saying that we are brexiteers, and remainers. No need for any insulting adaptations of those words. The rest of your response has no relevance to my comments.
Just send me some of your happy juice!!!0 -
