I do feel sorry for the Irish.
Why? They're all flocking across the border to spend their money in Belfast.0 -

That's so true John Kettle. When I can't buy UK my next option will be Aussie!
I do feel sorry for the Irish."And the Sterling has collapsed by 20–25 per cent against the Euro since June, so that makes Irish agri-produce much more expensive."
Same with Australian agri-produce as GBP/AUD has tanked 20% since the vote.Don't blame me, I voted Remain.0 -
Large and accelerating outflows from Italy - reported in Bloomberg0

Ireland should become part of the UK, Brothers in arms. The EU is investigating Irish corporation tax deals, another sign the EU cannot help but interfere and intrude into sovereign decisions0

It's not just skills - it's continuity.
Talk of my office being relocated. It's still within UK and everyone regardless of whether they have 'particular specialist skills' will have the opportunity to move. It would be the same if the move was to Paris or Peckham. Europe's really not that big a place.
The last thing you need when relocating is to have the additional hassle of sacking people and then recruiting them locally. Recruitment is expensive, time consuming and uncertain.Thrugelmir wrote: »Nor can an operation simply be moved instantly. There'll be parallel running between twin locations for some time. With a progressive transfer of work.
You've made a pronouncement that the people left behind aren't key and couldn't possibly move to the oh so far away Frankfurt. And you're going to sack them one by one as work is transferred and 'better' staff recruited.
That's going to be a tough office to manage.0 -

Makes UK produce more price competitive. The old chestnut of buying British.0 -

I was wrong about that - I thought it died a death but I'll stick with what I said - the first parliament vote will be on the terms of the deal. And, if it's not parliament will vote to leave anyway. It's happening.
We could really do with a shift on so the Brexiteers can get to the acceptance phase.0 -

Yeah. I saw MAN trucks move it's UK finance operations back to Germany and Poland. Even in the UK the new accounting package used (SAP) was entirely in German. Allowing a seamless transfer of data from various legacy finance systems onto the new package. Which could then be accessed from anywhere in the world.0 -

On the one hand it's really difficult to relocate finance jobs to Germany but, on the other, it's really easy.0
