In what way? If (and it is only an if at the moment) some banks move their European operations to Germany they will need employees.

Plenty of employees to be found new jobs at a local level. Be political pressure bearing down as well. As was the case in Belgium with the Canadian trade deal. When push comes to shove. Protectionism rules at the expense of European political ideals.

a lot of negative Brexit story's in the Sunday newspapers. I am not going to post links as you all know what's in the newspapers.
There will be no Brexit dividend for Britain.

    Any Sunday papers in particular?

No doubt there's pages on how the dysfunctional EU intends to punish the UK. All of which vindicates the decision made.

How do you feel about the Corbynesque Wallonese? Won't make decision making very easy if they cause a Federal Belgium to veto major EU policy initiatives. Not going to endear themselves to those that would benefit either.

    Eh?
There are quite a few positive pieces in our Sunday newspapers too, although everyone realises that it is bad news that sells here, no?

    And why?
Do our newspapers not compare with the stories like:
An acute shortage of space in Luxembourg's homes for asylum seekers means that some centres will reach capacity within the coming weeks
    from Luxemburger Wort?
The next about prejudice towards refugees (from the same source) is revealing:
Meanwhile, many of the residents who have since received refugee status and now receive jobseekers' allowance have been unable to find private rented accommodation because of prejudices regarding RMG.
    Such prejudice ........... in Luxembourg?
    Surely not, eh?

Only slightly more newsworthy that of a trailer overturning, shedding it's load of corn and hence causing a three-hour road closure.

No wonder you choose to post on UK forums, even if you do mostly spout bigoted nonsense.
  • Just to balance the negativity a little:

According to Peter Lilley, "HUNDREDS of thousands of jobs at European giants like BMW and Volkswagen could be lost and BILLIONS wiped from the Euro-economy if EU chiefs play hardball with Britain’s Brexit negotiators."
    http://www.express.co.uk/news/world/724028/EU-FINANCIAL-SUICIDE-Scrapping-UK-free-trade-SMASH-blocs-21BN-exports-cash-cow

Meanwhile the UK economy "is set show by just how much it outperformed pre-referendum forecasts later this week, when official growth figures for the crucial third quarter are published."
    http://www.cityam.com/252048/official-gdp-figures-show-uk-economy-defying-brexit

Also, Chris Grayling says "he is "convinced" Britain will have tariff-free trade with the EU post-Brexit because it is in the interests of both sides."
    http://news.sky.com/story/chris-grayling-convinced-of-tariff-free-trade-deal-after-brexit-10629341

The UK holds some "trump cards" too should those wielding power in the EU remain obstinate, one of which is the suggestion that "A secret plan to slash corporation tax by half has been hatched as a “nuclear option” to counter threats that Brussels will impose a “brutal Brexit” on Britain."
Reported in The Times & elsewhere, i.e.:
    http://www.theaustralian.com.au/news/world/the-times/brexit-uk-warns-eu-that-it-will-halve-business-tax/news-story/f802a0a6de55559807bb7e76b7f4e6f9

Finally from me for now, a sensible piece by Jeremy Warner:
Almost everything that is said about Brexit right now by our European neighbours is for domestic political purposes and therefore means nothing at all. Indeed, by the time we get down to the nitty gritty we may be dealing with an entirely different animal.

Varoufakis claims that May's Brexit team is composed of individuals with low IQs.

To be fair trying to find the high IQ Brexiter would be pretty challenging and she already has a lot on her plate.

Be the same Treasury officials if Corbyn was in power. Not content with insulting Jews, Essex man. Is Labour now insulting the integrity of the civil service?

In fact it wouldn't surprise me.

Varoufakis is not someone I'm particularly bothered by. Hardly made a success of reforming Greece did he. Kettle black springs to mind.

One of the aces I've been on about for some months is now seemingly being considered; slashed corporation tax.

We are in a powerful position.
