So it seems that they have not evolved to paperless tickets after all (at least not for now).
Looking forward to the day it comes though. Just book your tickets online, save the email to google/apple wallet and just walk into the cinema and even avoid the ticket machines. The only queue involved will be the queue to get your tickets checked at the top of the stairs before you enter the actual screen.
It'll come one day....
Seems like it already has at Cineworld: https://www.cineworld.co.uk/blog/my-cineworld-mobile-tickets
But thanks for your reply. At least I will stop to retrieve the paper tickets before I get too far into the cinema.:D0 -
I've just edited my last reply as I checked the booking receipt email, and it's actually the QR code or booking reference number which are required at the ticket machine.I work within the voluntary sector, supporting vulnerable people to rebuild their lives.
I love my job0 -

Seems some Vues accept it, some don't. Thinking about it, I'm sure I remember a scanner on a table next to where the guy usually checks our tickets. Never seen it used (I go at quiet times), but will see if it works for me tomorrow after all.0 -

Well, didn't need to print the tickets out. They scanned the QR code and that was it. Brilliant.:T
Don't think I could go back to queuing for a ticket on the day, unless the online system became unreliable.0 -
Our Vue is now in the middle of being upgraded to all recliners. (no VIP seats). Are these as good as the VIP seats? (Just wondering because they are only charging standard prices - so VIP upgrade no longer an option).
And if that wasn't a big enough change, we also have a Cineworld opening later this month.
Club Lloyd vouchers up for renewal next April, so have a few months to try and work out which is our better option. Cineworld is more expensive (if you have to pay) but I don't think that necessarily makes it a better cinema - given that our Vue is being completely refurbished.
Has anyone any experience of Vue AND Cineworld?
Which did you prefer?0 -

I absolutely love the comfort and flexibility of Vue's recliner chairs and love the fact I can book my favourite seat.
I've not used a Cineworld recently, but having visited other cinemas (independent etc.) I find the state and comfort of the chairs a let down.
I would factor in the type of films you like to see and the fact you can now use the vouchers for Vue Events etc.Free thinker.:cool:0 -
I only used VIP seats during free screening and I can't remember them being any better (except for marginally more foot space) than Vue's recliner seats.

Thanks for the reply. Well, we still have 6 vouchers for Vue to use, so it will give us a chance to try the new recliners for ourselves whilst the euphoria of
the new Cineworld cinema wears down.0 -
I recently started booking online at Vue because the booking fee was included in the Club Lloyds vouchers, but I can anyone confirm if this is the case for Cineworld? Will I need to pay 70p online for each ticket that I book with Club Lloyd vouchers?
(We get 18 vouchers a year between us and thinking about have some of each to get a longtime comparison between the 2 cinemas)0 -

The booking fee is included when you book online with Cineworld.
Also just another thing.
Regarding the expiry date on the voucher that date is the last date for booking and not the actual date you book for.0
