Wow, that was super quick, our full app was middle of January took roughly 4 weeks but I suppose 3 of those were waiting on salary documents to be supplied. Congrats, now the long anxious wait for exchange and completion...:beer:0

Cheers, Our solicitor fees are paid for as part of the incentives along with Stamp Duty, we've got a removals quote visit next week to discuss which includes dismantling of furniture and remantling at the new house, which makes things so much easier.
The joy now of handing in notice for rent, like you say changing billing addresses, and most importantly broadband and Sky - we're scheduled to move in end of March 25th weekend0 -
Ahh cool you already have your dates, we're hoping to exchange next week and complete a month after exchange (notice period for rent) so we may be moving in around the same date as you, we didn't go for a new build so unfortunately we have to pay the stamp duty and fees
just hoping the fees aren't too much more than originally quoted 0 -

Contracts exchanged today!!! We move in on the 24th March... What a roller coaster of a journey but we got there in the end!!:beer:0 -
My husband has a mortgage with Halifax, we have applied for a new mortgage adding me at the same time and increasing the mortgage by £25,000
We met with the Halifax mortgage man on 01/03/2016 the meeting was two hours long and he checked identity, pay slips, bank statements and finances. Credit checks were done and I was approved to be added and husband ok too.
They wrote to my employer 02/03/2016 and asked for confirmation of my wages (I work term time only)
Our valuation happened on 10/03/2016 and we were told it was fine and accepted.
We have a meeting with mortgage man Tuesday to discuss insurances (I'm not sure what this meeting entails) and in his email he said to 'move things forward'
I may well be being thick here but I wondered where we are in terms of the process, I'm hoping close as we want to start planning our extension.House renovation savings £25,000/£25,000
Emergency fund £1000

Hello everyone,
Congratulations to those who succeeded and good luck to those who are currently going through the application stages.
We got our AIP back in jan 2016. We've had an offer accepted on our house and have an appointment book directly with a Halifax MA next week. To be honest we are shi##ing it in our pants. We don't know what to expect or what kind of questions will be asked.
Just FYI, all our current accounts have been with Halifax for almost 20yrs and my salary goes there too. We have prepared in advance and got everything we could think of, such as Salary statements, Secondary income proof, Driving Licences, Passports, Other bank statements and to top it all, current budget & new home budget excel spreedsheet prints, questions sheet (Have we missed anything?????).
Since we already are customers of Halifax and our salary goes into their accounts do they still request payslips from the employer???0 -

Congrats on your AIP. We prepared for our remortgage (classed as a new mortgage app as I'm being added) with all the paperwork and even took plans for our extension. Halifax wanted payslips from our employer's even though we bank with them so I would take them along. We also took annual mortgage statements for our buy to let's and proof of any child benefit you may recieve.
As long as you are ready with all of your up to date paperwork then you have nothing to worry about.House renovation savings £25,000/£25,000

Thanks bambos,
In that case, we already have all the paperwork.
1. What sort of questions do I need to be prepared for?
2. I'm getting gifted deposit from family which is currently sat in their accounts, so to avoid problems later, does this need to be transferred to my bank account before the full mortgage application?0
