Why stiff can't just be scanned and emailed is beyond me, but hey-Ho never mind should hopefully know some point this week if I'm getting some shiny new keys
That's great news, I will hold thumbs for you! Our valuation is this Thursday.0 -
Application went in via broker last night. She said she'd ring us with an update today, though I can't imagine what she'd have to update us about so quickly. We're awkward squaddies too - one funded PhD (which only 12 lenders even count as an income) and one fixed term contract.Mortgage

We have just applied for a mortgage with Halifax too...so far so good but i really think this is due to our Mortgage Broker he has been excellent so far. Before he submitted the application he literally had every bank statement, ID, Payslip and everything in between which was a pain at the time but was totally worth it now. Timeline;
16th February - Full application submitted, MB spoke with underwriters direct and subject to property valuation all agreed from credit and affordability prospective
18th February - Valuation is being completed
MB is confident that as long as the valuation is OK we will have a formal mortgage offer by 19th February. Keeping my fingers crossed!!0 -

Ours went to the underwriters yesterday, and the valuation is booked for the 25th! they need bank statements to show the deposit, which is proving a bit of a pain because we moved our portions of the deposit into the joint account so we could give evidence to the estate agent, but it's happened after the last statement for the ISAs and before the next statement for the joint account, so it's proving hard to get it to appear on any paperwork! Going to have a chat with the bank later to see if that can give me something official looking.Mortgage

We have a mortgage with Halifax. Our original mortgage was done through a broker.
We have just arranged a mortgage with them for a second property and an extension to the mortgage on our first house for deposit.
Our adviser was very helpful and I can't complain about my experience with them.0 -
Woohoo, mortgage offered today, it's in the post... To say I'm relieved is an understatement, feels like all that stress and worry was worth it now, hopefully be in before Easter, let me know how you all get on :beer:0

We have had our mortgage off through today too. Copy via email from our broker and hard copy in the post! Absolutely thrilled - so submission to offer was 4 days!0
