Living with other students when you're at the same stage in your life and all in a similar mindset is worlds away from sharing as an adult. Most people don't actually enjoy living with strangers, they put up with it because it's what they can afford.

If you want to try living with a housemate or two, why not rent out rooms in your own house, then you have more control over who you share with and can ask them to leave if it doesn't work out.

I actually agree with this. You sound financially viable to own a multi-bed property, even in London. So rather than slum it with people you may not get on with, why not rent out a room or two to lodgers?

At least this way you can vet suitable people to find ones you may have something in common with.

I don't have that much money, besides I live in a 2 bedroom apartment in Kensington and the spare room is currently being used as a study. A multi (3 or 4) bedroom house where I live would cost a hell of a lot more than I currently make haha :rotfl:

What would I do with my current place? I'd have to sell it or rent it out, too much hassle to be honest.

Well, maybe you're not as rich as you think! ;)

I was thinking you were within the MIC clan the way you spoke lol

But seriously, just ease up on the money issue. You may well be comfortable now, but will that ensure a particular lifestyle for you for the rest of your life? If not then don't even go there.

You might have money now so invest it wisely unless you can guarantee same level of income for the next 40 odd years. If so then go for it, but I seriously doubt you can. Most young high fliers can't, unless they have additional talents or extremely wealthy benefactors.

I never claimed to be rich, in fact I wouldn't even use the word rich. I'm a single dude so a 2 bedroom flat is all I need. Anything bigger would just be a waste of money and more emptiness. I'm pretty sure I'll be investing and trading for the rest of my life.

I thoroughly enjoy it, I'm not addicted but I do enjoy it.

If you've not been to a London museum, check out the "Lates" nights. You can see the museum and have a drink at the same time.

Natural history museum even has sleepovers (Dinosnores).

Holidays by yourself but as part of a group.

At your age I enjoyed walking and went on several hols - at one I met my future wife.

Now my wife prefers to stay at home but I have been on several hols at home and abroad as part of a group that I didn't know anyone at all when I booked. There were several single people - some like me who had left partners at home, - we enjoyed our trips out and sharing meals together.

    Take the plunge
