Do you get the £10 a month for the first 12 months only or is it an ongoing payment whilst you hold the account?
What do the T&C say?

M&S doesn't appear to be the easiest bank to switch too.
First applied on the 27 Jan with approval 5 days later, since then it's a case of wait wait wait.
To activate the card and set up security for internet banking took 3 telephone calls without luck no reply, complained on twitter then finally I got a call from there customer service.
Now I'm trying to make the final call to complete the switch, yet again 20mins+ on the phone and no answer, surely this can't be good customer service.?
Is it me? what's other people's experience?0 -

Oh yes, for me as well they have been truly awful for wait times. That combined with the prehistoric iPhone app means that there's not a hope in hell of them ever 'really' getting my banking business. But I'll suffer it for the regular saver and £220 in vouchers0 -
I too have opened one of these, but cannot get a reply on the number to activate the debit card (tried 4 times on 3 diff days, hanging on for 10 mins or more - I wonder if they answer any calls at all on this line...). It says in the leaflet that you can activate online if you have an existing log in (which I do for a credit card), but the button they describe is not there on my accounts page.
Logged a complaint from my online account - so far no email acknowledging it, let alone a reply.
I've always seen M&S as rather reliable, but am getting worried whether it's wise to transfer banking - if its this hard to get the account open, how hard will it be to discuss any problems once they have my business??0 -
Quick question, When you finally get through to complete the switch, how easy and what's the process to open the regular saver account?
Is it more waiting for the post and yet another telephone call?0 -
Our switch went through a couple of weeks ago. How long have people had to wait for the gift card?0

The first call got put through to someone before the hold music kicked in. That was earlyish on a Saturday morning.
The second call, which I made at pretty much the exact same time two weeks later (to the same number as it's freephone) took around 15 minutes in the queue.
So I think there is probably a flood of activity at the moment, which will die down once the switching offer comes to an end.0 -

I opened my Regular Saver Account as soon as my switch was completed, couldn't do it till the account was all up and running.
I phoned them up and as it was then the end of March I started it that day, with a monthly DD starting from the 1st of every month.
A few days after I had done this I got a call from M&S to say that something had gone wrong with my Savings Account and they took £250 out of my Current Account and put it into someone else's Savings Account in error. They apologised and credited me with 1,000 M&S points to my account, which is worth £100 -
Has anyone had at least one £10 credited to their M&S giftcard yet? I opened an account in January, switched early February and got my £100 giftcard a couple of weeks later, but no £10 credit yet.
I checked the terms and conditions, but they have now been updated to the latest offer. I think I remember it saying that the £10 gets credited by 15th of the month?0
