It was a different story in my local store, for the first year since I've been going there was a very unpleasant atmosphere, people forcefully pushing you out of their way, blocking aisles, snatching - it took the fun out of it really as I've never seen anything like it.
  • I avoided Bluewater this year. I think my friends and family have got bored of getting boots presents. I had so much left over from a few years ago just before christmas, had a real clear out. When the presents i get have so much thought that go into them I feel a bit of a cheat. Do I want to stock up personally on smellies etc for the year -well no I have just found the loveliest Avon Lady and the products come right to my door for a fraction of the price.

Did go into Tenterden tiny tiny branch for something else today and they had next to nothing when I peaked at midday but did have a large opened S & G set. Nothing was missing, so for £18 for all those products I did treat myself as it was free with my boots points.
Food and Smellies Shop target £50 pw - managed average of £49 per week in 2013 down to £38.90 per week in 2016

After all the horror stories didn't want all the pushing and shoving would sooner go without. I noticed that my local shop had several large sanctuary drum type gift sets reduced from £45 so went there first and got two. One for me despite me saying nothing for me. Used my 10% voucher. Also a couple of mini body butters as small gifts. All rather heavy so had to walk home with it. Then Enfield the shelves were quite bare but still lots of bits people all very nice no professionals but just people stocking up with gifts for the year. All friendly and no grabbing. Would have loved the Champneys hamper but not to be. Might find one though. Lovely Joules Garden sets in a nice green metal garden trough got a couple as gifts. Remembered to use my coupons but forgot to use my love to shop vouchers still they are well in date. Might have another brose at the weekend.

  • can I take items back if I bought them for someone and they don't like them
  • Well that was easy... not being able to go at 8am because of work, been refreshing website all day to try to pick up two Champneys hampers for my sis' Xmas extras with no luck. Thought I'd try my arm at the local retail park on way home at 7pm... there was a whole shelf full of them! Bought one with points so two for £18 and picked up a Sanctuary set for £6 #yay

    'til next year!

Much longer queue than normal but lots of stock particularly sanctuary & soap & glory offer of the week sets which I dont tend to go for as would rather grab the stocking filler smaller items.
Alot of stock down one end of the store so we were all filing round in a one way system.
Staff members were stood with cages of stock shouting what they had with people taking from them as we filed past.

A bit hit & miss for me, things I wanted that I didn't get were:
Soap & Glory reed diffuser set
Sanctuary & Champneys reed diffuser sets
Sanctuary & Soap & Glory crackers
    Beer & Lager packs
Large Ted Baker offer of the week set

    Things I did get:
    Champneys bag of Delights
    Yankee Candle
    Mens ted baker wallet set
    Mens FCUK socks Set
    Shot 2 Go photo baubles
Shot 2 Go character photo baubles
Round box of 3 Champneys candles (was bit disappointed as didn't realise until I got home that it had been opened & box torn)
Gold & Silver boots candles with a tree topper lid
    Car glovebox kit
Lynx peace & black duo sets
Spiced apple bauble body butter tin
    Nivea body bag

Spent £46 ish all in all; don't seem to get as much for your money as you used to.
Few things for myself and bits to give throughout the year.

as long as the gift set is unopened and complete, yes you can (even better if you still have the receipt).
