  • All I got was 2 tins of shortbread biscuits and a Lynx set.
    Store was manic
    travelover
  • I popped in for a quick look just before midday- most shelves were pretty empty apart from several hundred lynx sets. Picked up a couple of bits and a sanctuary oil marked up at £8.
Only when I got home did I look at the receipt and see that the oil went thru at .80p!!! What a bargain!
  • My local store had loads of sets, S&G the whole she bang and other sets in the S&G range, champneys, French connection, lots and lots of lynx duo, bench duo, fcuk etc.

Not much people when I went this morning around 10am. I took my time and had a good look through. Got most of what I had on my list for pressents and I picked up a Reiss London Luxury Body Souffle for myself.

The experience was much better for me this year compared to last year.:)

OMG as a veteran of several years of Boots sales, I've never seen so much stock as in Milton Keynes today!!

I'd gone to a small branch, after dropping my son at school, and spent all my points, plus £15 cash, and was happy with that.

I then went into MK centre to meet a friend for coffee. Big mistake, LOL

She was in Boots so I went to join her - was there for nearly 2 hours and the stock just kept coming and coming!!

They kept bringing cage after cage of just about every set imaginable, and I blew my budget big time and spent a further £120 :D Oops

Admittedly my friend reminded me that as both our kids are leaving their special school in July, we are both going to be giving lots of "Goodbye and Thank You" gifts, so we sorted all those out.

Hahahaha, she's just rung me to say she's back in town - 4:45pm - and they are STILL putting stuff out!!!!! (I may have just asked her to grab me a few more bits - I'm hopeless!!!)
  • I was working in a small market town and popped into the small Boots at 10am - This was my first foray into the Boots 70% off day! The small selection on display included Soap and Glory, Jack Wills, Lynx, The Sanctuary, Panetone makeup, French Collection and Florence and Anne.

There were a few ladies browsing so I picked up a few bits and paid £16.20, all very civilised.
A minute at the till, a lifetime on the bill.

Nothing tastes as good as being slim feels.

I had planned to swerve the sale as I've found the experience has gone steadily downhill the past 3 or 4 years, however I found myself outside Boots in Bromborough retail park at about 10:30 this morning so thought I'd just have a look. It looked as though there had been about 6 aisles of sale stock but by that time, about 80% of it had gone and there were mostly bare shelves. There were hundreds of those Champneys hampers, dozens of the Joules tote bags, countless Lynx sets, but very VERY little other than those. A few Yardley type lavender sets, some Beauticology, a few mens sets and FCUK headphones sets but nothing I'd rave over.
One thing that annoyed me was that most of the stuff had no original price tag and no price on the shelf, so it was hard to know how much it was meant to be unless you took it to the till, which I had no intention of doing.
All the stuff seems so vastly overpriced to start with, that at 70% off it's *just about* what it's worth. So no great bargains to be had. In past years I've rushed straight to the big Boots near where I live, after dropping the kids at school, and up to a few years ago I always got bags full of bargains. The past couple of years I've picked up maybe 2 or 3 bits, but I've totally given up the days of planning my whole year's birthday shopping from this sale! Not worth the bother, in my opinion!

I spoke to a young lad at the till and he told me that one lady had spent well over £300 just on 70%off stuff.

OMG, really?! so at 70% off, that means the stuff was "worth" £1000 originally?!?!?!

went into my local yesterday while they were rearranging the stock on the shelves. arrived at opening time and half the stuff had been taken off the shelves, I'm guessing to put on shelves later. they had all the large sets, a couple of joules stuff, lots of chamney stuff, few jack wills stuff....loads of the cookware stuff, loads of the kids gift sets. wasn't too bad.
I managed to get a joules weekend bag, joules lip butter set, PJs for my daughter, 2 jack wills stockings, small champney body butter sets and soaps, a pair of slippers, red baker fragrance set and 2 small s&g sets and a few other bits. used my vouchers and was given back £16 worth of points. so not bad going
  • I woke up at 3 and tried to order somethings on line, what a nightmare. They only had a few kids bath sets😢
I had to pop into Shirley this morning, went into their boots and picked up a few bits and Bobs. I was quite content with that until the assistant told me to try Solihull, where I went a little crazy.
Solihull was civilized, not like Birmingham in previous years, everyone was polite, no rudeness, perhaps a bit of laughing at how I was going to manage all that stuff home.
I struggled with five large bags on the bus.
However I've brought most of my birthday and Xmas presents for the year.
