Popped into my boots tonight, lots of Champneys sets and Sanctuary large sets, shelves otherwise bare.

Went to a smaller Boots. Saw people leaving with trolleys full and 5 or 6 bags full. I bought 2 x microwaveable hotties £20 each down to £6.00 each. Champney hamper £60 down to £18. Big Woolley socks £13 down to £3 60. Seventeen make-up box £40 down to £12. Laura Ashley nail set for £2.40 nail file for 75p. 3 lip glosses for £1.20 each. Spent £52 saved around £122.00
    Also got additional 150 points.
Nobody was shoving. Everyone was being civilised. By the time I left at 9:15am it was very quiet in the store.

  • Was at the Oxford Boots for opening. Probably about 20-30 people there as the doors opened. While not madly packed there were more people than I have seen any other year. Generally quite civilised with people taking their baskets/trolleys to one side to sort through their stuff. There was quite a lot of stuff, lots of S&G, Champneys, loads of men's gift sets

I've been good this year and did not go mad. I only bought David Beckham classic blue set for £2.09 and Bench duo set for £1.95. These are the presents.
I was tempting to buy London Yardley English Daisy set for £4.50 but did not like the smell of the perfume. I think it was too heavy so I left it on the shelf.
I saw some people buying LOADS!

I got a Joules bag with hand cream, emery boards and 3 lip balms reduced from £14 to £4.20. This will make a good present for a friend. I also got set of 3 X 50ml tubs of body butter reduced from £8 to £2.40 and I got a further 10% off as I am in their contact lens scheme and it was Boots brand, making it £2.16. I will probably use this myself. I couldn't give it as a birthday present as it is packaged in a cracker and I will probably forget about it by next Christmas :rotfl: There were quite a few big Soap & Glory and Sanctuary sets in my local store this morning, but I resisted this year as I don't have much storage space!

i was very very good this year, stuck to my list and only picked up things i know my daughter, husband and niece will like among the pressies in their christmas stockings :).

OH is learning to drive, so got him a glovebox canister as well as the obligatory Gillette gift set and some slippers

Niece is a teenager, into her hair, skincare, make-up and nails, got her an UG Glambox and some cute kitty handwarmers

Daughter is also a teenager, into the same kinda stuff but not so much nails, I've got her
    UG Curl It set,
    Fox microwave hottie
    suede gloves
    kubuki brush
    Laura Ashley reed diffuser set
Fat Face small toiletry bag & contents
and a couple of Bleach London dyes and scrunchies

for me, I kept a small Crabtree & Evelyn tin set (the blue one) and a Mark Hill brunette hair minis box (because I can't resist them at 70% off). I also got some xmas cards and another roll wrap set (which will go in the stash and which I really don't need to buy in the sales again next year!!)

I also swung by the Disney Store and got 2 iphone cases half price in their sale, one for each of the girls.

I spent £71 on that little lot, (on 17 gifts).

    So I had a good day :D.

I went into Perth branch for opening at 8.30am. About a dozen people in front of me but quite civilised. Quite disappointed i didn't see any commando rolls in the door!! A bit of a scrum first thing but no bad feeling. I got mainly boys stuff. Didn't get the fat face set I wanted but got champneys. top man and ted baker and some lynx and bench for my son. Also hoped to get some of the joules stuff esp the floral but but no joy with that. There were loads of the Laura Ashley sets left, some FCUK sets and millions of the Lynx duo which was £1.95 so fine for my son to use throughout the year. No food sets which disappointing. Lots of the PaulFrank monkey sets and Yardley sets and hot water bottles animals.

Mum got 3 really nice Crabtree & Evelyn gifts which I'd missed as there was a staff member with a cage of stock in front of the shelf.

To say there were so many people it was relatively orderly & civilised although it wouldn't surprise me if in future year's they limit the amount of people allowed down at any one time as could very easily get out of hand.

Tried not to get too many sets as I think alot of people get inundated with toiletries so was dissapointed by the lack of home fragrance & foodie gifts available at my local this year

OMG as a veteran of several years of Boots sales, I've never seen so much stock as in Milton Keynes today!!

I'd gone to a small branch, after dropping my son at school, and spent all my points, plus £15 cash, and was happy with that.

I then went into MK centre to meet a friend for coffee. Big mistake, LOL

She was in Boots so I went to join her - was there for nearly 2 hours and the stock just kept coming and coming!!

They kept bringing cage after cage of just about every set imaginable, and I blew my budget big time and spent a further £120 :D Oops

Admittedly my friend reminded me that as both our kids are leaving their special school in July, we are both going to be giving lots of "Goodbye and Thank You" gifts, so we sorted all those out.

Hahahaha, she's just rung me to say she's back in town - 4:45pm - and they are STILL putting stuff out!!!!! (I may have just asked her to grab me a few more bits - I'm hopeless!!!)

Which Milton Keynes store? Kingston or city centre?
Hi Ho Hi Ho it's of to comp I go!

For those of you new to this heres what happens, by law, every single year:

    21. Innocent passing elderly couple who just called in for some fibogel get caught up crush but too overcome with amazement of discount to complain.
    !

silently lolled to myself this morning remembering number 21...while queueing with my purchases, when I turned around and saw the person behind me was an elderly lady. looked to see what she was buying ....and the poor thing was holding a tub of cotton buds. I told her to go before me and she was thankful and said she was contemplating going downstairs to pay.
