My girlfriend doesn't go anywhere without me, other than to visit family.

Which is fine if it's actually what she wants ......although maybe if you took the padlock off the door you might find she does want to leave the house now and again !

    No, we haven't.
I leave the cold to go to the warm weather. So your suggestion is a bit dopey. I can assure you that I'm smiling heartily right now. You are welcome to Svalbard. My Norwegian friend and his girlfriend are here too. So they've made a little more space for you to enjoy. Ha det bra!
You seem to be repeating yourself. Have you got sunstroke? Jag can inte tala Norsk, bara lite Svenska.

and douchey is back ;) erm sorry, duchy

Sorry duchey, but I'm not alone. My girlfriend doesn't want to or have to travel alone. But i have friends who are girls who do travel alone and would never consider the ignominy of a solo cruise. That is so sad. Maybe when they hit their sixties.

    My girlfriend is Scandinavian ;)

Off to play Muay Thai. Enjoy your unusually clement Manchester weather and your upcoming trip to see the Northern Lights.

I reckon Nifty must be digging a hole to get to Thailand..

I don't think I've seen quite such obtuse posts ignoring the OP and going on about themselves. I've ended up being amused at such crassness.

Yesterday I put my snow tyres on my old car as I'm off to the Alps for 2 and a half weeks, on my own, as a single woman. In spite of my enthusiasm for skiing it's not something I'd recommend given the initial brief. Anyway Piglet, enjoy whatever you try, and if you ever do fancy skiing you only have to ask and I promise no recommendations for resorts with the most difficult runs! :-)

Wow...a geezer bird. You must be so proud. It's funny how one after the other they post on what they like doing....and not one of them is solo cruising. :)
I don't know even one person under sixty who would choose such a banal way to spend their time and money if single.
It's completely different in a yacht, sailing around islands, jumping in for a swim. But in a glorified ferry...
All these women are simply confirming what I have asserted. That they travel independently, doing what they want to do, unencumbered by fear.
I'm used to be a man amongst loads of yapping girls and mummy's boys. It doesn't faze me at all.
I'm already in Thailand. But you were clearly preoccupied with telling us about how capable you are, that you missed all else.

    That is so sad.

I think it is sad you are limiting yourself to holidays where it is warm. I think it is sad that your girlfriend is limiting herself to not travel without you. See it's all down to our own personal views.

To be fair any woman who chooses to go away with someone with such a poor attitude to women probably has issues of her own with self confidence and self worth so probably wouldn't want to.
