Completely Crazy Clothes Challenge 2016

Oh dear, I found you
I have bought NO clothes this year, AT ALL. I did buy a pair of shoes though, for my birthday, does that count?
The plan is to spend the entire year without spending anything on clothes.
So far, I've been saving for a house deposit. All good, I got that, but I must resist the temptation untill I can bugdet properly again (new house, move, solicitors etc, it all adds up).
I have plenty of clothes.
What I will do, this year no spend, next year budget/save for it and then hopefully start the clothes fund.
My problem is that I'm happy to own just two jumpers....costing about £300. So my budget will have to be rather large.
The plan is to open a ME account. Stuff like cosmetics, threading, clothes, shoes, to come from a separate 'piggy'. If I have a fund, I can carefully plan to spend in sales, as opposed to whenever I got the cash.car finance £1072/£8285 by sept 2018

£38.97 spent today on 2 pairs of shoes and a cardi. I had been looking for one like it for aaaages, so only feel guilty about the shoes. And I forgot to use a gift card. Fail. Also another handbag, but so far have not counted handbags in the clothes budget. 2 in a year is very low for me.
Looking for another pair of flats (think I saw the ones I now want last year) but so far, no luck. Crossing fingers that they'll make a reappearance over the summer.0 -
Had the oft-talked about clear-out yesterday. Partly to get out my summer clothes, to put the dark/winter clothes away, try a few bits on and generally clear out. There are FOUR bags waiting to go to the charity shop and there's a few bits on eB*y. My intention was to empty the large suitcase where I store all my non-fitting/non-seasonal clothes as I will need it for my holidays next month, but I failed at that. Will just have to leave the clothes on our spare room sofa-bed when we go away :rotfl:SPCNo.18 #20 (17 £562.86 16 £678; 15 £1120.92; 14 £416.53; 13 £191.52; 12 £260.48; 11 £480.95; 10 £682.31; 9 £442.64)

Mavvymoo can't believe your bargains. Well done!
I haven't spent for months! My sister bought me some bits for my holiday which is in its 7th week in Ibiza, sadly I'm back home late Friday night.:(
I've managed to resist buying at the Hippy market here, which is fab, but may treat myself on Thursday night when a mini hippy market comes to the beach outside my hotel. There was a hand-made leather purse I had my eye on last time, so that will be coming home with me! It's within my budget as I've not spent over the last few monthsLiving a frugal retirement without treading on the planet :T

Oh everyone is doing so well EXCEPT ME!
A little sunshine and I lose control - I bought a new BEAUTIFUL dress and two pairs of sandals. I did think them through and bought tan and navy, both neutrals and colours I don't own. I will wear them loads (if it stops raining) but I am not good at bargain hunting like the rest of you and consequently have spent almost all my budget!
I say that but actually the ones I initially wanted were £120 each and the ones I bought were £100 for two pairs.
It's still too much isnt it. I just wanted them to be comfortable so that when I go on holiday with the children I can walk and walk in them without a problem. And the navy ones are Saltwater so can be worn on the beach.
I think I might be kicked out of this group soon for being out of control. When mavvymoo buys a million things for £16, then I trot along and spend £175 on three things! *hangs head in shame*
I am trying to tell myself that I HAVE been better this year because of the challenge, but compared with everyone else I am a disaster.Fashion on the Ration 2020 - 5/66 spent0
