That's exactly what I thought. Half a stone at the very time most people are gaining!!:T

Good to hear you have some pampering booked in hopeful. I'm going to take another look at Groupon. There are usually some good offers at this time of the year with salons looking for business. I'm fancying a massage and maybe a facial.

Sticking to just the new moisturiser again today as I'm going out and don't want to risk the panda eyes. Will try adding eye cream tomorrow when I'm indoors.

Football today so I'll be dressed for warmth/keeping dry rather than glamour but will make a bit of an effort with make up. I'm amazed when I've occasionally been invited into hospitality seats to see WAGs and their entourages dressed completely inappropriately. It's the tottering down the steeply terraced seats in ridiculously high heels that makes me laugh. I suppose they feel they have an image to maintain but I just think they look stupid. :D

    Good morning lovely ladies

Lots of interesting chat on here, loving all the plans and enthusiasm......

Maman - those boots are fab. What a bargain.

House viewing - it's not the one. I know it's a dark day but it was terribly gloomy and although I could improve the light quality inside with a few tweaks here and there the garden hardly gets any sun.

    Back to the drawing board........

I'm going to have a kitchen sort out today and finish the last couple of cupboards in my bedroom. Other than that nothing special this end.

I'm feeling distinctly "januaryish" today, never mind Spring is just round the corner.

    Hi fabbers:)
Absolutely love, love, love those boots maman - I want some!
Sorry to hear the house was disappointing LL
I'm loving reading all the enthusiasm from everyone for fabbyness(?!)
I'm house fabbing today - very slowly and steadily;)
Very embarrassed at work yesterday when someone who called in reduced me to tears (I didn't cry whilst on the phone, I hasten to add!), but I did have to go off to the loo afterwards and have a proper sob:embarasse:embarasse - as a result, my eyes still seem a bit puffy today so I've not put on make up and I'm going to put on a face pack in a bit to refresh my skin.
Will wash and dry my hair later - still not sure I like the colour; it's brown with sort of burnt toffee streaks through it, but I'm not rushing to change it as I want to see how I feel when I'm more used to it.
Going to do a meal plan for the week later - I'm still struggling to eat healthily; I may need to follow a "diet" plan I think, to give me some extra discipline.
    Have a great day, all:)

    Hello Everyone!

I have read posts for the past year and posted once I think!! It's about time I got a bit more proactive as things are going downhill drastically.

In the past year I've put on 2 stones in weight and I was already 2 stone overweight anyway.

I was aiming to start the new year very healthily but I have spent the first week very poorly!

This is the first day I feel normal so next week I'm going for my fresh start!

I've always worn perfume ever since I started watching this thread and just recently I've started wearing nicer clothes for work to make me feel better however I can probably fit in 1% of my wardrobe but I will make do until I can get back in my clothes. I don't want to start buying clothes this size as I think I'll give up and just settle!

Hopefully by joining in the thread it will motivate me to do something rather than just think about it
    A new start awaits!!
  • Thank you Maman

When I finally get around to sorting my wardrobe I will try to use those principals.
I like the cost per wear theory as well. I have a lovely bright red hooded top that I bought ages ago every time I wear it I love it. It cost a lot at the time but cost per wear is now very low. I wish I could do this more often. Now I tend to lose my confidence when shopping for clothes and go for the ‘safe option’ and feel I wear clothes that make me look older that I am/feel.
On the plus side , I went to meet a lady I used to work with yesterday and I usually feel inferior (not her doing) but I put more effort into getting ready and used a bit more make up than usual and felt much better and more equal . She seems effortlessly stylish to me and I wish I knew how to achieve this.

I hope you enjoy wearing the red boots.

emptypurse I think it's great to read that you felt equal to your stylish colleague. I got loads of compliments last year due to fabbing, so it's worth keeping it up.

time to get up welcome. What are your plans in terms of losing the weight?

ellsbell sorry to about your day at work. Hope you are feeling better and that the house fabbing went well l

ll how annoying about the house. I know you are a property expert, so I don't need to tell you that there is something better out there for you.

maman I totally agree about being appropriately dressed. If there's one thing I hate, it's being cold or uncomfortable.

Emptypurse making a bit of effort really does make such a difference to your self-confidence doesn't it.
Timetogetupandgo2 - perhaps you should treat yourself to one or two nice things that fit NOW? That's what I've ended up doing until I lose weight.
LL - shame about the house.

I haven't made any effort to look good today but I did make it to spin class. I had minimal resistance on but who cares!

Having a lovely "me" morning:rotfl: OH usually cycles 3 times a week which gives me time on my own to potter at my own pace, do fabbing stuff, or haul stuff out for Kondoing. The wet weather has curtailed his trips out and lost me that time which I value so much.:)

About to put a pre-shampoo treatment on my hair and sort out some toiletries before having a shower and body moisturise - I am so bad at this in the winter, I just want to be showered, dried and dressed asap:o, also hate clothes sticking to skin afterwards. I have gallons of the stuff, mainly from gifts, once it has been used I will be researching ones that absorb quickly to replace them, I have dry skin, so do need to get my act together:(

Yesterday's CS expedition to a lovely small town nearby yielded a great pair of black Olsen trousers in a size 10, they need to be shortened so will try and enlist OH to pin them up for me later, not confident at cutting fabric off:eek: and making new hem, but I really must break out of my comfort zones, as the alterations shop is really busy and I need them now.

It is great to see new and returning faces, the hints and tips posted by LL in the early pages of the thread are imho, worth returning to from time to time as a gauge of how we are doing and also as an encouragement to keep adding new things in as we master something new.

    Good morning everyone

Lovely day here so going to go out for a little stroll in a moment. I had a nice fabbing session this morning. Opened up a gift set ds2 bought me for Christmas. I now smell divine.....also gave myself a face mask.

Finally plucked up courage to weigh myself.....back to pre cruise weight. Having said that I feel "flabby" so I'm really going to have to get my act together and do some exercise to get a bit more toned.

Also firmly back on the paleo now. I have been a bit silly and have been eating grains rather more than is good for me and am now paying the price with tummy problems and joint pain......:( My own stupid fault.......

So I think tonight I'll dig out my recipe books and try and get some new ideas. I need to experiment a bit more otherwise my diet gets a bit restricted and I get bored. I think that is why I fall off the straight and narrow sometimes.

I need to broaden my gastronomic horizons.......

Other than that not much news.......I am sticking firmly to my not spending/saving programme so I have not even been tempted to visit any charity shops and have strongly resisted the sales.

I am going to make do now with winter clothes and then hopefully when I have lost a bit more weight I can splash out a bit on Spring and summer clothes.

I agree it's lovely to see so many new and returning faces in here. I enjoy reading all your updates.

Right time to,get cracking and go for that walk whilst the sun is shining.

    Have a great day.
