Good afternoon and welcome to our bright shiny new thread full of hope and optimism and new beginnings.

To the newbies, a big, friendly hello and welcome.:hello:

To our returners - it's good to see you all again. :j:j

To our lurkers - come on.....join in........you know you want to;)

So for the newbies......

What is this fabbing malarkey all about ........

Well basically it's about turning our lives around, taking control of our destinies and making dreams come true. And it all starts with Fabbing.

But why "Fabbing".

What do we mean by that word. Yes I know it's a made up word but it encompasses everything we want to achieve.

A new fabulous us for our new fabulous lives.

I think that for many of us "fabbing" is where it starts because so many of us have, at some point, lost our way a bit.

In a nutshell, somewhere along the way we allowed ourselves to become frumpy. Maybe we gained a bit too much weight, maybe we stopped looking in the mirror, maybe we just stopped caring about ourselves.

But this new year is where all that stops.

A New Year brings a clean slate, a fresh start.

I want to take this opportunity of wishing you all a Very Happy, Peaceful and Prosperous New Year. Tomorrow take time out to have some fun. Do something that gives you pleasure.

We start in earnest on January 2nd. :rotfl:

In the meantime, if you want to make a start then tomorrow take the first step on your journey to Fabdom.

Step 1. Wear perfume.

If you always do what you have always done, you will always get what you always got!
  • Hello LL!
You may remember me under my old user name (welshwoofer)?
I've been lurking for a while on the old thread and once I saw you were starting a new one there was no excuse for me to not rejoin the fold :)
    Hope you'll have me back?

Fabbing fell by the wayside as I got promoted and work consumed my life (and still does) but this must change for my wellbeing and sanity so here I am with my tail between my legs ...
The Fling, who is now the official OH, is still on the scene (almost 3 years later - doesn't time fly?) and the dog is still going strong albeit with the help of very expensive medication.

So, here's to being fabulous at 44 :)

    PS perfume on!

Maman just asked a very interesting question.

Namely, "if you had to prioritorise your fabbing goals, what would you choose".

A great one to mull over tomorrow......;)

    Marking my place.

For any newbies, I joined this thread last year, in 2016 and it really helped me to fab up - I had some lovely compliments from people when I've made the effort. Plus, everyone is really welcoming and supportive, so please do pop in

    My goal:

Loose weight - I'm petite, with small bones, so I don't carry weight well. Clothes will fit me better and I'll feel more confident.

Thanks for the new thread *LL*
Didn't get rid of the extra weight this year, so that's my priority for 2016 - that and learning to love myself a little:)
    Happy New Year all x
  • Hi All
I would like to join in. Would love to do things for me next year
    1. Take more care with my appearance, wear my good clothes more often
    2. Lose weight, to feel better and healthier
    3. Do fun things

    Thanks
  • Thank you for the interesting question maman!

    My priorities would be:
    1. lose a bit of weight - possibly by going back at WW - as I'm still on maternity leave, I can go during the day and meet people in the local area
    2. make sure my hair stays nice/ manageable - regular colouring (which I do myself) plus Brazilian keratin treatment every few months - not especially cheap but I can get that and a cut done for around #60 with Groupon and it's the only thing I've found which makes my horrible tangly hair ok. However if anyone can recommend a cheap supplier of Kerastase products that would be much appreciated :-)
    3. try to make an effort with my make up every day; since having the babies I've found that mascara hurts my eyes, looking for a decent moisturising one that's suitable for contact lens wearers. I've heard Blinc is good?

Happy New Year to you all, with lots of fabbing!! xx

I was a lurker last year and never posted. I've decided this year is the year of 'me'. I need to look after myself better, I'm now working full time with a hubby, two kids and a house to manage. I need to eat better, drink less coke, excerise more and loose a bit of weight.
Just a few goals then! HNY everyone!
