I'm thinking I need to join this!

I have let myself go a bit in December, so here are my aims for the year:

    - Get more sleep - adjust my bodyclock back to going to sleep before 12 and getting up between 7:30 and 8:00.
    - drink more water - this is my biggest downfall and should help with:
    - lose a stone by the end of the year after which will also help with:
    - get healthier - I had a scan and have got a bit of a fatty liver, so slow weight loss is ideal here. I will also help by doing:
    - do more cardio. I get so bored at the gym, so in December I recce'd some parks for running in. Haven't had the guts to run in public yet! So my aim is to do HIIT running in the park on the weekends and gym on weekdays.
    - keep up with making my hair look good - I always wait ages for getting my hair cut to save money. I'm going ensure I get regular hair cuts.
    - dye my hair. I have started to notice a few strands of grey here and there, so I'm going to dye my hair at home to see how it goes - getting a friend to help with it, it'll be a semi-permanent colour.
    - Wear my good clothes more often. And when my weight comes down I can fit into some other clothes/buy new ones.

Greenbee my DH does his emails & plays on FB while in airport lounges on work trips, he also tries to get through check-in early & into a decent restaurant so he can get a healthier meal than airport / airplane food.
I definitely try for the healthy meal (and buy juices/fruit to eat on the plane). But I also try to keep moving, so avoid the lounge (unless I'm getting a free facial or similar). I do keep on top of email and stuff, but also do a LOT of walking around the airport!
Greenbee - I used to travel with work a lot too and sympathise - it's not glamorous is it! I don't miss it if I'm honest although it was great at the time and I got to see lots of places that I would never have got to by myself.

It's nice when you have time to see places. Not so good when it's an in-and-out trip. I've got a long trip coming up to Canada - 12 days including travel, and am looking forward to the weekend in Vancouver. But not so much to the temperatures, particularly in Calgary! And I know I'll be totally wiped out by the time I get home.

If find I know my way round far too many airports. And I also frequently have no clue which city/country or even continent I'm in
  • I hope it's okay if I join? Albeit a little late. Depression and stress hit me hard the end of 2015 and really my whole... everything went a little wonky. I need to correct that for my own sake as much as anything else.

Goals (and how I plan to get them done, I'm told plans are good):
    1. Lose weight. It'll be at least 5kg as that's the amount I needed to lose pre Christmas but I won't know the full damage of the holidays until I get back to my flat and my scales monday morning. This will be done by eating more healthily, limiting sugar to one sweet treat a day with a view to eliminate entirely, going to the gym 3x a week minimum and walking 10,000+ steps each day.
    2. Maintain good hygine. Sounds awful I know, but it's amazing what slides when you barely have the energy to get out of bed. I can do this by washing my hair on a regular schedule, always taking my makeup off at night, and trying to shave once a week. I somehow clang to regular washing and tooth brushing despite it all anyway.
    3. Pamper self a bit more. Paint nails once a week, try to use different eyeshadow colours instead of the same two every day.
    4. Stay off cigarettes. Got myself a decent APV and a good selection of very flavourful juice from reputable companies. Hopefully this will keep me off the analogues and be a good investment in my health and save money in the long run.

    Sorry for the minor essay.

Well thought I had made a good start on my fabbing last night before bed until I went to get ready for going out shopping today. I thought I had put on my night moisturising cream and some cream under my eyes which was specifically to help with the bags I spotted yesterday morning, however in my tiredness I managed to put cuticle care cream under my eyes as I got that and my eye cream mixed up. No wonder my eyes are a bit sensitive and watery today:rotfl:

Will now sort out two bags one for face care and one for hand - just in case!!!!

    Hi,
Can I join please. 3 years ago I broke my ankle, and I have put on 3 stone, and got very frumpy indeed. I am hoping to lose 3 stone by the end of 2016.

    Afternoon All,

Just a quick post before I go off to work. I had a good start yesterday -after listing all my plans I persuaded my Mother to come out for a New Year's walk with me. I managed to do 18,600 steps in total. I've only done 5,600 so far today but should manage another six or seven thousand with the walk to work and five and a half hours at work. I've made a prawn salad to take for my tea.

Today I'm wearing a raspberry pink top with V neck and three quarter sleeves, teamed with dark grey smart jeans and black ankle boots. As I always do, I am wearing perfume and jewellery. Just need to tidy up my hair before I set off for work.

Tomorrow I am at an elderly Uncle's surprise 90th birthday party. It's about 100 miles away so I will be spending quite a bit of time in the car so may not achieve my step total.

I forced myself out into the rain for a run (it was more appealing than the housework!), and managed 7km. It took an hour, as it was VERY muddy, but I really enjoyed it. I'll probably be aching tomorrow, but there's no reason I can't manage 10km soon.

My spiraliser also arrived today (tracking says it was delivered last week, so I guess I should let the supplier know it has finally turned up...), so I had a delicious (late) lunch after my run of shredded beetroot, feta and walnuts.

Since then I've managed a shower and given myself a pedicure (not only were my toenails rather too long, they were also very muddy, even after a shower) and tidied up my fingernails while watching a DVD.

    Good Evening Fabbers,

I had a nice day catching up with one of my boys, his wife and children. We spent Xmas day with them and we haven't seen them since.

I plan on hitting the charity shops next week to see if i can get some clothes in smaller sizes as all my stuff is really baggy and looks terrible.

To the lovelies who have asked how i achieved my weight loss................ i'm afraid i can't take any credit for it, it's down to a prolonged bout of severe depression which i am still in the midst of. i know i will come out of it eventually and the huge weight loss is an unexpected bonus. I know that when i recover i will gain weight hence why i am hitting the charity shops for clothes, i don't want to spend too much money as i am trying to live more frugally this year.

I have to confess that i am not wearing any perfume as i have none!
Ok thats it and i hope i haven't bored you all too much. Back tomorrow.

    regards

Get out of a rut with my clothes. I have tonnes in my wardrobe and I hardly wear them as they are 'too good' - Too good for what? for me to wear? It seems a bit daft that I have bought them but don't wear them. I really need to re-evaluate this idea and also[STRIKE] if[/STRIKE] when I lose weight a lot of these 'good' clothes will no longer fit and I will have bought them for nothing.

This is a very good point. I was talking to a friend about this recently. She explained that she wasn't brought up to save her nice things for 'best' but to wear/play with them as much as possible. I think it's a lovely sentiment and one we can all learn from. It links in to LL's idea of making an effort NOW instead of waiting until we're thinner.

I went for a long walk today and signed up for a two day free trial at the gym. I've dug out my gym stuff and just need to make sure I actually go! I also went for a mooch around the sales and had a bit of a splurge. I've binned all my tatty old bras and been really enjoying wearing my nice new ones. I found them on sale at UO for £11 so bought two more. I somehow feel nicer with pretty, comfortable underwear even though nobody sees it!? I wear a lot of Bretton stripe tops and splashed out on a swanky good quality one from Jack Wills, reduced to £24. Still a lot but I will wear it all the time.:o

I wonder how Indie is getting on?
