LL I forgot to mention, I've made my own fruit infused water, inspired by you. I added some of my frozen black berries that I recently picked, some lemon and oranges. It isn't lovely, but it makes a nice change from plain water.
I popped into TK Maxx yesterday when I picked up DD from school and I looked at some of those water infuser bottles. I'm not sure they are worth it - I've just popped my fruit into a normal bottle, which I could strain, if I can be bothered to get up.0 -
Yes I thought that about the infused bottles.....I'm sure you could just strain the water instead. Will give it a whirl..
Ellsbell.....sorry to hear about the demise of your washing machine. I got the last lot of my appliances from AO (appliances online). They often have deals.
Fasting going well today. I find the mornings really easy, it's the evening munchies that are the stumbling block for me. So if I can manage it I'm going to try and copy Lego Mum and keep going till tea time without eating and then I can feast......:rotfl:
Drinking lots of water.0 -
happy fab friday
Today is my first official day with all children in school. Woohoo. I can't remember the last time I had a day to myself. I really wanted to have a wander around the shops today. Not necessarily to buy anything, more to have some child free time. When I took the children to scho, it was pouring with rain. Luckily, it has stopped now but my plans seem less enjoyable. Maybe, I'll sort the house out and me then decide.
I'm just about to jump in the bath for a soak. Before I do so, I'm going to body brush, which is something I've fallen out of the habit of doing.0 -
....some people looked like they'd come from straight from the beach! And the larger some were, the less they seemed to wear. I don't mean to be critical - heaven knows, I'm a very long way from perfect - but I don't know whether to admire the self confidence of some people or just assume they don't really check any Mirrors before going out!
:rotfl:
Couldn't agree more and it's men as well as women. A man with a beer belly wearing a vest top is not a good look!
Hope the induction week is going well chanie and pleased to hear you've some time to yourself. I've been into the city centre a few times recently for various errands and other than a fleeting look in passing I haven't the enthusiasm to browse the autumn collections yet. Probably because of the good weather although it's cooler here today. It has rained but we've missed the dreadful cloudbursts that some have had.
I've been fabbing this morning including creaming my feet! I've used a rich body lotion (from a set of Clarins smellies I had as a gift) as all foot cream used up until I buy some coconut oil.
My healthy eating has taken a back seat the past few days because of DH's birthday which tipped into yesterday when family came round with cake. I'm going to do my meal plan shortly and resolve to do better although we're out for another meal tomorrow.
Have a good day all whatever you're up to.:)0 -
maman I also use the coconut oil as a hair mask. It has lots of different uses, so if you do buy some, it won't go to waste. Where are you going tomorrow?
I'm back from town and picking up DD from school. Whilst in town, I did try and browse in the shops, but want particularly inspired. As maman said, maybe it's the in between weather. I think a combination of lack of time and money has put me off browsing, so I normally look for specific items online, based on what I see people wearing l.
When I was in town with OH, recently, he was talking about how difficult it is for him to buy me presents. I normally say money is fine, so I can choose something myself. It's not that I'm fussy, it's just I like what I like. So, I've started compiling a list of generic presents that OH can pick from, if he wants to get me something. MAybe I'll ask him to do the same.0 -
Good evening lovely ladies.
Hope you all enjoyed Fab Friday..I went to the cinema to see the Bridget Jones movie. Absolutely loved it. I though BJ2 was a bit of a Disappointment but BJ3 is a cracker.
I dressed very simply, jeans, new navy fine knit swater, new black loafers and my new "Aztec" white and navy coatigan. So smart casual.
Afterwards we went for a "cheeky Nando's". I had a Mediterranean salad and chicken breast. So really healthy and quite delicious.
I have now done my two fast days and have eaten very sensibly on the other days. 4 days in I've lost an inch of my waist and my tummy seems flatter so really pleased. Must get a new battery for my bathroom scales So I can start weighing myself.
Getting sleepy now so i will say goodnight. Cooler here so hopefully much more comfortable for sleeping.
Ps. I agree with the consensus about the current autumn stock in the shops. It really isn't very inspiring. I managed to buy a couple of tops last week but there really is a lot of dross around. I have to go to the Asda megastore (travel agents bit) tomorrow so will have a look and see what they've got in store.0 -
I was in Sainsbobs the other day - they have a really nice tweed pencil skirt, but I couldn't find anything else to go with it, and haven't yet got my winter things out & couldn't remember what I already have, so it went back on the rail. If it's for me it will still be there!
Also Mataland have some nice things in too including nice, fine knitwear & above-the-knee skirts.2021 Decluttering Awards: ⭐⭐🥇🥇🥇🥇🥇🥇 2022 Decluttering Awards: 🥇

I'm having a Huggy Bear moment - word on the street is that Sainsburys are doing their 25% off clothing next week. Maybe the MSE Gods stopped you from buying the skirt so you could get it when it was on offer!!!0 -

Another beautiful sunny day here. Just pottering and enjoying it.
Having another fast day today. Yesterday and Friday were both fairly low calorie healthy paleo style eating.
Not sure how much weight is coming off......still no scales:rotfl: but definitely feeling better.
Thanks for the heads up in Sainsburys 25 per cent offer, I thought we were about due one. Will take a pop over this week. I need a couple of cardigans and perhaps a few more lightweight sweaters.
I bought a couple of long sleeve tops from Primark but they are a bit too tight - I had forgotten how mean their sizing is. SO they will have to wait until I've lose more weight, the Matalan ones fit well though, wore one on Friday.
The matalan tweed skirts are lovely but a bit too far "above the knee" now for me, unfortunately. I'm a bit long in the tooth for those. 40 years ago yes but not now. :rotfl:
My friend insisted on buying one.........she asked me what I thought. Oh dear how do you say "mutton dressed as lamb" nicely.. There is no way so I just said the skirt was lovely but perhaps a little short but it should look ok with opaque tights. She got very indignant. She then asked anither lady in the changing room. The other lady looked at me helplessly obviously thinking the same as I did but desperately trying to be tactful and diplomatic. She more or less repeated what I had said.
My friend was quite put out and bought the skirt......I have to say it just made her look tarty but how do you tell someone that. It was too tight and far too short. Hopefully her other friends or daughters might have better luck in dissuading her from going out in public in it.
I had to bite back the words........"if you go out like that then I'm not surprised you keep attracting the wrong men". She does, one bad relationship after another.
I once worked with a girl who always got involved with the wrong men - real "wrong 'uns" who treated her like dirt. She was a lovely girl, educated and refined but she had huge boobs and thought it a good idea to flaunt them.....half the time she dressed like a hooker. :rotfl:
We worked in large open plan offices and we all advised her to tone it down a bit. After one particular disastrous romance gone wrong again she was bemoaning her fate. One of lads on the factory floor was passing by and stopped to join in the conversation. He listened to her tale of woe, looked her up and down and said.. .."Well stop dressing like a prostitute, no man will ever take you seriously the way you look".
This was before the film "Pretty Woman" had come out.
I know no man has the right to tell us how to dress but it is both interesting and quite revealing to get the male view point and to see a woman through their eyes sometimes.
My son has an expression he uses whenever he sees a female dressing too provocatively, getting drunk And behaving badly in public, swearing etc. He just raises an eyebrow and says "Classy".
As Jerry Hall puts it "what's most men want is a w h o r e in the bedroom, an angel in the nursery and a lady in public". Pity Jagger turned out to be such a waste of space. I always thought Hall behaved with great dignity when they split up. She deserved much better.
Ps the day before when we were out my friend tried on a lovely navy dress which skimmed over her lumps and bumps and which just sat on the knee. She looked absolutely lovely in it, the colour setting off her gorgeous long naturally blonde hair. It was really simple and elegant and I thought she looked stunning in it. She said it made her look frumpy - it didn't. If anything it made her look taller and slimmer whereas the short tweed skirt made her look short, dumpy and fat (she is a dainty 5 ft 1")
I guess it just goes to show it can be very difficult sometimes to see ourselves as others see us.0
