...As Jerry Hall puts it "what's most men want is a w h o r e in the bedroom, an angel in the nursery and a lady in public". Pity Jagger turned out to be such a waste of space. I always thought Hall behaved with great dignity when they split up. She deserved much better...

I agree, and think she let herself down by marrying Rupert Murdoch.

Frying Pan into the fire I'm afraid.

Can't see the attraction (could never see the attraction of Jagger).

Perhaps they both have hidden charms. :rotfl:
  • Hello Ladies,

LL you are doing so well with your healthy eating and fasting. You obviously have the kind of will power that most women would like to have. :D

I went to a Chinese restaurant with my son and daughter in Soho yesterday for lunch. This was our first visit to Chinatown and unfortunately we were not impressed by the restaurant we had our Groupon voucher for. As it was really busy and all the other diners were Chinese, we were expecting really good food, but it was below average. The myth that the Chinese will only eat good quality Chinese food has been shown to have no merit on this occasion. ;)

We had chicken spring rolls and spare ribs for the starter. The spring rolls were too oily and there was no chicken and they had a very unfamiliar taste. The spare ribs were not barbecue flavour as we were expecting. They had a very odd appearance and the meat was overcooked and we all agreed to leave them uneaten on the serving plate. :(

Our main meals were alright, but very salty and nothing to recommend to anyone. My son had chicken noodles, my daughter Singapore fried noodles and I had Singapore fried rice. :(

Although the food was a crashing disappointment, we had fun talking to each other. At home we do not tend to sit around the dining table with each other at meal times and share a meal and lively conversation. :)

We were generally overlooked by the waiting/serving staff, so we were glad to get the bill and leave the restaurant. We all agreed that we would never return, as our local eat as much as you like Chinese produced better quality food and we had now developed more refined taste when it came to Chinese food and preferred to eat in 'real' Chinese restaurants locally. We have some very good Chinese restaurants in our local area to choose from and will stick closer to home in the future.

I wore a red sleeveless top, a long black skirt, my black leather 3/4 coat and wore my black patent leather with gold cutouts Van Dal sling back shoes. I was carrying my large black patent leather Jaegar handbag. I had on perfume, but no make up or nail polish.

I am going to a show in the Brooklyn Bowl in the 02 with my daughter tonight. Have a good evening ladies as I intend to. :D

Can't see why - she has her own money, albeit not quite as much as the wallets!

Maybe but she has her own millions......she was never likely to be on the breadline. :D

Sugarbaby.....TBH I don't know quite what's happened - maybe I have finally had my LBM but I am genuinely finding I don't need "willpower" this time. It's like a switch has gone on in my head.

I think having a very definite goal helps. In my case it's getting those blood sugars down and halting my incipient diabetes in its tracks.

I've seen it in action and it's horrible and if I can prevent it I will.

My mum was in her early 50s when diagnosed. I'm 65 so I guess I'm lucky in that I am "winning the battle by almost 15 years" but given that my recent readings were not good I can't afford to be complacent.

Plus of course a little vanity helps.......;)

I am deliberately trying to cook really nice meals, trying out new recipes etc, using lots of herbs and spices and making my own healthy low calorie dressings and sauces rather than just grabbing a jar or a packet.

My son is loving the new menus. :rotfl:

It's costing a bit more, the grocery bills have risen, but if it means getting fit and healthy and sending the diabetes packing then it's worth it.

sugar me and OH weren't impressed with Chinatown either. We had high hopes for some lovely food, thinking it would be lovely and chose a buffet restaurant. Like you, we prefer our local buffet, which is half the price and much nicer. I also go to the Chinese Supermarkets and try some random noodles and they've always, been lovely.

ll trying new recipes is the only way to keep healthy eating interesting, otherwise, it gets, boring.
  • Good Morning lovely ladies

Miserable day here. Was due a routine eye test at the hospital but have postponed it. Woke up with feeling tired with a splitting headache so don't fancy hanging around for hours and then being poked and prodded and having lights shone into my eyes. :rotfl:

I think I was dehydrated so have just drank 3 glass of water and am feeling better. Must remember to keep up the water intake. Other than that feeling pretty good.

Given the bad weather I think I will get down to some much needed house cleaning and maybe a bit Of domestic godessing.

Hope you all have a good week.

Grey and much cooler here today too.:(

It might be an idea not to replace the batteries in your scales LL. We don't have scales at home (threw them out years ago because they were gathering dust as we were ignoring them;)). I weigh about once a month and in the meantime I know from my clothes how I'm doing. Many of my friends get obsessive and weigh every day or several times a day which then upsets them because of normal fluctuations they see as gains. Perhaps you could put the scales away somewhere inaccessible and get them out at a set time each week? Good idea to drink more water, it's easy to confuse thirst and hunger.

We're having a busy time at the moment with family birthdays and football and other things. Ended up at an American diner for DGD's birthday lunch (her choice) and it was very good. The staff were amazing and the food (I had a Chicken Caesar salad) was good too. I must give them a positive review on Trip Adviser.

I've had Chinese food in Hong Kong and China and it's nothing at all like we have here so maybe that was the problem with Chinatown although I have had nice meals there myself. There's a saying that the Chinese will eat anything with legs as long as it's not a chair or a table! I found the 'real' Chinese food bland and the meat poor quality.

Thanks for the heads up on Sainsbury's and Matalan. Now the weather's on the turn I might start browsing.

Being out and about a lot has given lots of people watching opportunities. In the main, I look at women around my own age and measure myself up against them. Great fun! :D That was an awkward situation you were put in LL with your friend and the skirt and strange that she found a tailored dress frumpy. Maybe it wasn't for the sort of occasion she had in mind. I've got a formal business meeting coming up later in the week, the first for this school term and I'm thinking hard what to wear. It's mainly because as it's colder I might have to wear tights again.:(

I've been fabbing earlier this morning, written a few emails, made some calls and will be doing a few chores before going out dancing later. Have a good Monday all.:)

    Morning fabbers.

Just to let you know that Sainsburys 25% off has started in case any of you are wanting to get anything. I've been eyeing up the children's PJ's as they both need some.

I've seen somewhere that there will be two further 25% off events this year - end of October and the end of November, in case you miss this one.
