  • Happy Birthday Chanie :bdaycake:_party_:grouphug:
  • Thanks legomum and well done on keeping to your plan:)
I've managed ok today - helped partly by the heat I think! Maman I had a Diet Coke in the coffee shop! I'm ok there usually though, as I always drink black coffee anyway, and only have a tiny dash of milk in my tea; I don't like milky drinks as a rule.

Chanie, a very happy birthday to you:) it's a bit late for cake so have a nightcap instead:D🍾🍾. I love the idea of saving your new things.
Have just watched my team on TV and I'm off to bed now - hopefully to get some sleep!

Belated Happy birthday Chanie...hope you had a lovely day.

What a fab idea about the Birthday treats. I'll pinch that one.:rotfl:

PJS and nightwear. Most of my nightwear is horrible.... I did treat myself to a chinese dressing gown for my Belguim trip - navy silk embroidered with flowers and a dragon down the back. It folds up nice and small so That's my "holiday" dressing gown. ;) but I do need to treat myself to some new pjs etc.

The other thing I might get is some nice warm soft lounging type trouser/Hareem/joggie type pants. Some sort of "at home" type outfits for lazy winter evenings rather than a dressing gown. Dont quite see myself in a onesie though.......:rotfl: I would like something a bit more glamourous.

I had a better nights sleep - 7 hours straight so feel much brighter this morning.

Despite feeling ghastly yesterday I managed to more or less stick to my fast. I did go over the 500 cals but that was due to an attack of the "evening munchies" but I didn't indulge in anything high carb or sugary so hopefully not too bad.

I did manage to drink a lot more water and I think that definitely helped me feel less sluggish. I have started drinking lemon water first thing in the morning........its recommended to combat GERD.

I am also going to try making some Natural fruit infused water so today I am going to order one of those water infusing thingies.

I had to cancel my Physio appt but did at least manage a few neck exercises last evening. I need to,up my game on the exercise front.

Looks like another hot day so going to wash the sofa throws.

BTW during this hot weather I have been wearing good old fashioned eau de cologne. I have had loads of compliments about it. I bought a huge bottle of Boots own for £4. I decant it into one of those cheap plastic spray bottles. At that price you can slosh it around with gay abandon. I have even started using it as a natural room spray. I discovered insects hate it so it makes a great repellant - far nicer than nasty chemical insect sprays. It even deters flies.

I do have to watch perfumes because so many give me headaches so tend to prefer lighter scents anyway.

A little tip.....if I get a perfume which is too heavy or which gives me headaches then Rather than chuck it I use it up by adding a few drops to some plain oil - usually grape seed oil to make a perfumed body oil. It smells divine and of course costs a fraction of expensive body oils.

If you don't like oils then you could use a plain body lotion like E45.

My mother loved heavy sweet perfumes. They smelt lovely on her but not on me. When I cleared her stuff I found several half used bottles. I wont be needing to buy body oils for quite some time.;)

Right time to get cracking before it gets too hot to do anything.

"Sloshing around with gay abandon" made me really laugh for some reason, LL:rotfl::rotfl: Good tips though, thanks:)
Alas, still not managed a full nights sleep! Try again tonight! Off to pick up DS2 now - early finish from school today. Back later.

ll I'm also interested in getting one of those water infusers. Let me know how you get on with it. Also, thanks for the tip on the perfumes.

Ells I hope that you get a good nights sleep tonight.

Just got back from a day out with DH for his birthday. We managed to fit in a visit to the Beatrix Potter exhibition which finishes at the weekend. Got talking to a NT room steward who was telling me they're having training in how to interact with the public! They've moved a long way from when all they said was 'Dont touch! ' Then we had lunch in a pub garden and drove home the pretty way. No family today because of work but we'll be opening fizz very soon.:D
Enjoyed a bit of people watching. There are people out there in dire need of this thread! NT felt like I was walking through a Cotton Traders website at times
Glad the fast days went well. Lots of people on SW suffer from evening munchies LL so they keep some treats /calories specially. I tend to have a couple of squares of 70% chocolate.
    Still very hot here. :)

Well......I suppose it's better to visit a NT property and see the cotton trader models than go to ASDA and see the chavs in their pj's or onesies.:rotfl:

Very hot here too. Going to sit in the garden in a bit.

Had a good day of healthy eating. Dinner tonight was A la Greque tyle, . Lamb kebabs, Greek yoghurt, cauliflower rice and a green salad. Not actually a proper fast day but quite a low calorie count, and the only carbs worth counting have been a nectarine.

I haven't been able to weigh myself (scales need a new battery) but I did take my measurements yesterday:eek: My waist measurement puts me in the danger zone. :o The sooner I get that down the better.

Ps. Will try a fast day again tomorrow.
  • Good Morning lovely ladies....

Well I had another great nights sleep. Another 7 hours straight. Bliss.
    What a difference.

much cooler here so today I might actually be able to get some gardening done.

Going to try for another fasting day.

    Will check in later......

Hope you all have a good day.
  • Sounds like you had a lovely day maman:) I'm laughing at the Cotton Traders remark:D I love people watching too; I went to a performance at a local theatre last night, and whilst I know that people don't really "dress up" for this any more (including myself; I wore a short sleeved broderie anglaise type blouse and smart indigo jeans), some people looked like they'd come from straight from the beach! And the larger some were, the less they seemed to wear. I don't mean to be critical - heaven knows, I'm a very long way from perfect - but I don't know whether to admire the self confidence of some people or just assume they don't really check any Mirrors before going out!
Sorry if that's harsh - maybe tiredness is making me nasty!:o
My washing machine has been limping along a bit this past few weeks, and this morning has finally given up:mad: I do resent having to buy a new one and have tried searching for a deal somewhere but no luck, so I'm going to have to grit my teeth and get on and order one - can't be without one for too long!
I'm off to shower and fab up a bit once I've done that - late to get going this morning as I was up again from 4pm onwards:(
Still very warm here so will relax in the garden later.

    Hi fabbers,

I'm having a lazy day today. DD is on shorter induction hours for school so I've been working from home for a couple of hours and then having annual leave in the afternoons. Today, I'm working from the comfort of my bed!!!

Tomorrow is my non-working day, so I'll have a couple of hours to myself - I can't remember the last day I had time without the children.
