Hello Ladies,
My Tax Credits have been sorted after only 1 missed payment, so I am very happy that this issue has been resolved so swiftly. :T
I had a lovely family weekend. My eldest son came to visit on Saturday with his 2 daughters. My eldest granddaughter and my grandson came as well. There was lots of fun and laughter in my home for hours. :j
I could not be bothered to cook from scratch so I bought 45 cooked texan barbecue wings from the hot counter in Morrisons and then I microwaved 3 packets of Tesco pilau basmati rice and did an extra large mixed salad. I did re-heat the chicken wings in the oven on 2 roasting trays so they were piping hot and lovely and crispy. Everyone enjoyed the food and I had not had to slave over a hot stove making a meal for 8 people.
My eldest granddaughter spent Saturday night with us, so that she could celebrate her 15th Birthday with us on the Sunday. :happylove
On Sunday my granddaughter and her Dad, my grandson, my daughter, my son and I went for a birthday meal to a local Pizza Express. We took my granddaughter's cards and presents to the restaurant and she opened them there between our main course and the dessert. We all enjoyed our chosen pizza or pasta main and we all had 2 drinks of our choice and a dessert each. I had the chocolate glory dessert and thoroughly enjoyed every mouthful of my decadent, luxurious dessert.
The total bill for the 6 of us was £130. I was able to use my Tesco Pizza Express e-vouchers to pay £110 of the bill and I used a Pizza Express £20 gift card that I had bought earlier in the year at a discount, so I did not have to hand over any money to pay the bill.
I was planning to go to Karaoke, but after I had taken my granddaughter to Waterloo, hugged her goodbye and seen her onto her train home, I could not wait to get home and get my feet up and relax after the busy weekend.0 -
What a lovely weekend Sugarbaby
. And very mse
Thanks for the 5:2 tips, maman and angrybear. And LL, I'll kick your derrière if need be, and you can kick mine:D
Plan today is to have soup for lunch, chicken breast and salad for dinner, with lots of low cal veggies. I might also have a small banana:D
Another night of very little sleep last night, so I'm really running on empty now. I've got to go into Town in a bit for some errands, and I've some ironing to do - not looking forward to that given how hot it's going to be today:D
Meeting a friend later for a coffee but going to scratch a couple of other plans I had for today and try to grab a nap - I'm off to the local theatre tomorrow evening and want to feel better by then!
Hope you enjoyed the dancing maman, and glad the wedding went well, Floss
Sorry about the appalling grammar and punctuation - I really am half asleep!:D0 -
Good Morning
Ellsbell - snap. I had a dreadful night too, was awake until 7-00 am, fell asleep and have been awake for about half an hour. I feel absolutely terrible so today is cancelled. I will have to ring the Physio, I just can't face it.,
Food wise, I don't know the very thought of it makes me want to gag, so maybe a fast day today won't be too hard.
Like you I'm going to try and have a nap later.
I did ok yesterday, stuck quite well to Paleo, although maybe a bit too much dairy. And I did at least manage to drink more water.
Sugarbaby - glad you got the tax credits sorted out, that must be a relief.
Not sure what to do today, it's a lovely day but I have zero energy so I might just potter in the garden.0 -
Great news about the finances being settled sugarbaby.
I'm another who had a poor night's sleep. I just kept nodding off and waking every hour or so.:(
Beware of coffee shops ellsbel. I tend to either have Earl Grey black or an Americano and ask for hot milk, preferably skimmed, in a jug (I hate cold coffee) so I can add a splash to suit. Some coffees are packed full of calories and could ruin your fast day.
I've a meeting this evening followed by a visit to a carvery with my colleagues. So smart casual but as it promises to be 24 degrees even at 6 o'clock maybe jeans will be too much. I'll give it some thought.
Have a good day all.:)0 -
sugar pleased your tax credits have been sorted out.
Ells an LL I'm really interested in your food plans. Definitely need to get back in the wagon myself as a couple of people have asked me if I'm pregnant!!!
maman what dis you decide to wear in the end?
happy birthday to me
Today is my birthday and DDs first day at school. Dd had absolutely no problems with starting school. She lined up with her teacher, waved and went into her class.
Me and OH then had a couple of hours together. We went to the Tip (exciting, I know, but easier to go without the children) and then we went for a Chinese buffet lunch. By the time we finished, it was time to pick DD up from school, as she is on short hours whilst she settles into Reception.
I've been stockpiling stuff to enjoy for my birthday and it has really brightened up my day. I've worn new Pjs, my new denim dress and a purse I bought earlier this year. It's all stuff I've bought but wasn't in any hurry to use, so I've put it away for my birthday and it feels like extra presents, even though they aren't. I'd definitely recommend having a small birthday or treat box if you can.0 -

Same from me chanie . It's my DH's birthday tomorrow. Christmas babies!! 😃0 -
maddie my new tradition is going to be new pjs for my birthday and Christmas. I've always bought the children New pjs for Xmas eve, as its too see them in decent pjs on Xmas morning. I felt good waking up this morning in nice night-wear. I'm going to start replacing my pjs more often, as they become tatty so quickly.
maman I don't want to think about how my parents 'celebrated' Xmas!!!!! I remember joking with MIL that OH was a Valentine's day 'celebration'.
Thanks for all the birthday wishes. I was, very MSE and made my own cake.0 -
birthday freebies
Here are a few freebies you may want to consider signing up for (this a frugal fanning after all)
body shop you get a £5 voucher on your birthday. £5 doesn't get you very far, but there are travel sized products available if you don't want to pay extra. The condition seems to be that you have used your membership at least once, but it doesn't mention a minimum spend.
Space NK - I've only had two birthday presents, one good, one, not so good. You don't get s choice of gift, but you may be lucky and get a nice high end product.
river island I randomly received a birthday gift of £5 off a £20 spend. I had a quick browse but didn't see anything I wanted. The voucher was only valid for a week, so is only useful if you were going to buy something anyway.0
