I went over to the big Sainsbury's today but didn't buy anything either chanie. I saw a couple of chunky jumpers that I fancied but decided they were wants rather than needs so they stayed there.
I'd kept the article from the paper about supermarket fashion so I took it with me and showed it to someone from the clothing department. The two blouses and the denim skirt I'd fancied aren't in yet. Surprise! Surprise! They'll be in when the 25% is over.
I've joined in Fab Friday with dark denim jeans and my navy and white Breton top. It's been bright and sunny so my silver ballet pumps got an outing. It could be their last.:(0 -
Good evening ladies,
I seem to have been Awol fo so long:o
On my return from a manic week away at a funeral, I went down with a ghastly virus  I am just starting to feel better although the violent coughing is still reluctant to leave me, thank goodness for Tena lady :rotfl::rotfl:The Eurostar was bursting at the seams with some people coughing and spluttering, a haven for germs and no where to run :rotfl:
I hope you are all keeping well, welcome to any newbies and hugs to all that need them.
Take care

Hello Ladies,
My daughter, son and I went to Pizza Express for lunch. I used a Nectar Summer Rewards Voucher and my last Pizza Express gift card to make the meal a lot more money saving. We all enjoyed our food even though we had a bit of a wait because the restaurant was busy.
I wore a black scoop neck sleeveless top, a purple pull on skirt, my black Van Dal patent leather sling back shoes with the gold cutouts. I had on perfume, but no make up or nail polish. I was carrying my black leather Osprey handbag. I wore solid gold jewellery.
The sun was shining here in London, so it was lovely to get out of the house for an indulgent lunch with my children.0 -
That sounds like a good day Sugarbaby . I think Pizza Express is a good place for taking youngsters, it feels like a proper restaurant and the food is good and if you have vouchers it's very mse as well.
It's been lovely and sunny here as well. DH and I went for a trip to a seaside market town and enjoyed a light lunch and a browse around the market. I bought some hardy cyclamen that'll look bright for the winter.
I wore my Breton top with jeans again.
My eldest DGD has gone to university today
DD1 is going to miss her massively as they've been on their own since she was a toddler. I think DH suggested we have a day out to take my mind off it. DD1 will call by later as she borrowed my car because it's bigger to take all the stuff. I hope we don't have too many tears.0 -
sugar and maman your days sound great.
Today has been spent fabbing of a different kind - we've been decorating our living room. We last decorated it 8 years ago when we moved in, but having young children has left it in a total state, with scribbles and grime on the walls. It's always, been difficult to find the motivation to get started, but the children are staying with family today. We've used the same colour as before,, so it's been a straightforward job and cost well under £100. We now want new sofas. The current ones were my Mums old ones and are too big for the room. We found out we were expecting a few months after moving in so have never really had the money to buy nice furniture and stuff.
Tomorrow, I'm going to pop into town to buy some voiles and curtains whilst OH finishes the painting.0 -
Morning fabbers
A quiet day for me today - we've bought new bookcases / cupboards, so the old bookcase which DH's ex left behind in 2000 has been earmarked for my sewing/hobby room to replace the collapsing fabric wardrobe. So, me & The Archers will be emptying & sorting, prior to transferring all my stuff onto shelves.
We also bought a new bigger dining table half price in Next a few weeks ago, and found the chairs we wanted all 40% off in another Next, they arrived yesterday.
Has anyone heard from Rubyslippers recently? Was wondering how she is getting on...

Good morning ladies,
It's going to be a lovely day here, thank goodness Autumn has arrived I needed some respite from the constant heat of Summer.
Sugar, I also like Pizza Express when any of the family want to eat pizza because their pasta is quite nice too. I just wish I could get away without actaully parting with money, you really do plan well
Maman, you striped breton top sounds lovely, unfortunately hoops are a big NO for my body shape
I hope you all a good Sunday.

Good morning lovely ladies.
I agree - Sugarbabes your MSE skills are awesome!! All those lovely days out on a shoestring budget. I must try and learn from you.
I love Breton tops too, but my bosom is just too generous for horizontal stripes. Alas.
I did buy a very nice navy cotton knit top from Matalan recently. For the price it actually looks rather good and it does have a certain "French" feel iyswim so I think it adds a little bit of "Parisienne chic" to my outfits. It's nice when you find a versatile garment that makes you feel good.
Yes I am really enjoying the nice mild autumn weather too. This week I aim to finish landscaping DS2s garden before the weather breaks.
Did I mention I am off to Barcelona in November with DIL. She has to see all her tutors etc re her PHD. DS1 has no holiday left so she asked if I would like to tag along. I didn't need to be asked twice!!!
I think it's around the first week in November so although it won't be "scorchio" - it should still be quite pleasantly warm - probably similar to here now, but chilly in the evenings.
I have cancelled the February trip to Cyprus. I felt 4 weeks in the same hotel was just too long. The travel company very kindly let me switch to another holiday, so I will be cruising round the Med next October (2017). I know it's a long time ahead, but I'm finding that solo cabins do get booked up quite a long time in advance.
I shall be visiting two of my "must see" destinations, Rome and Florence, so really pleased.
Chaney - your room revamp sounds good. Amazing what a lick of paint can do isnt it.
Floss - great bargains there. Enjoy yourself today.
I have decided to paint our dining room furniture. I picked up a huge dining table in Mexican pine for £80 and 6 matching chairs for £10 (bargains). They look fine but I think they are actually a bit too imposing in DS2s small dining room so I think a bit of shabby chiccing is in order. It will make the room look lighter and more spacious. I'll do those after I've finsished the garden.
Right speaking of gardens.......
Have a great day everyone.
Flicking through my diary I realised I am having my hair cut on Wednesday. It needs it, it has grown really quickly and is looking a bit straggly.
MAman - I have taken a leaf out of your book. I now make sure I always book my next appointment when I am at the salon. Otherwise I forget and then I have to wait until she can fit me in.
Healthy eating going well but did have a bit of a dip yesterday.0
