Evening all. Fallen a bit behind on the thread as spend the last few days feeling very sorry with myself with a really bad cold/virus. Still not feeling particularly great but off on holiday on Tuesday so determined to shake it off! Normally weigh in on a Monday but know I won't get a chance tomorrow thanks to impending holidays so have switched to a Sunday (Think I might permanently switch to Sunday as it actually works a bit better for me - hope that doesn't mess the chart up Shala!!). Pleased to report a 1.5lb loss this week. Very pleased with this as it means I've reached my first stone
Felt like I was close to the stone mark mid December, but found the last couple of pounds really tough to shift (xmas didn't help!!). Hopefully my holiday won't mess things up too badly - it's only 3 nights, and I'm planning to stay relatively sensible so fingers crossed there won't be too much damage.
Got myself some melba toasts this week - can't recall who suggested them but absolutely loving them. Think they're going to be my go to savoury snack from now on.0 -
HurdyGurdy wrote: »The best laid plans, an' all that jazz. I had my four year old grand-daughter for a sleepover last night, because my daughter had a rotten cold, and felt lousy. When I didn't get a response to any of my text messages or phone calls this morning, I sent my husband over to check on her. He found her practically unconscious and non responsive. I just knew, when I picked my grand-daughter up yesterday, that it was more than just a cold. Anyway, three paramedics couldn't find a vein to start treating her, and so she was blue lighted to hospital.
Once again, for the god-knows-how-many-times-now, she has Diabetic KetoAcedosis. Life threatening.
So my plans for the day were sent awry. How exhausting is it to have a four year old, bless her.
So, I know I had weetabix, with blueberries and almond milk this morning for breakfast.
I don't remember lunch (but I know I did something from the little 'un), and I THINK I had a pear at some point.
And we had roast pork, apple sauce, roast potatoes, gravy, yorkshire puddings, carrots, green beans and sweetcorn for dinner. Everyone else had carte d'or ice cream afterwards, but I had coconut greek style yogurt from my re-discovered EasyYo yogurt maker, with raspberries. I have lost count of syns, but I don't think I went too near to the 15 max.
And I have oat based muffins in the oven now (smelling rather lush) for breakfast tomorrow, just to make a change from blimmin' weetabix or overnight oats (has to be eaten at my desk, and we're not really allowed to eat at our desks so it has to be something discrete)
Weigh in tomorrow morning. I am optimistic for at least a 2lb loss.
That sounds awful, hope you daughter will be ok?
Wiz always best to get yourself checked out just for peace of mind. Hope you're feeling a bit better!
Still feeling bloated here! My Dr recommended the FODMAP, I use it more as a guide as some of the 'avoid' foods are OK for me like onions. Where as garlic is a real no no. Some foods on the 'eat' list effect me like melon & bananas. So just a guide really.
Had homemade rice pud for tea, just like I've done before but boy am I suffering. Could be down to the bloating but so painful.
Sorry long post - for those that have had the ready made veg couscous, butternut spaghetti etc, how do you use them? It says stir fry but I don't want to do that. Thinking it's ok to eat the couscous as is ie not cook but what about the bn spag? Can I warm it through in water? Can't see why not myself!
Thanks in advance :AIts not what you do but the way that you do it, thats what get results :T

TakeItEazy - I hope she'll be ok. She does this so often
anyway - I am just quickly signing in to report a woo hoo - 4lbs off this week. I had hoped for 2lbs, so this is a real boost to me. I have also dropped a stone number, so that's even better :j:j:j:j0 -

I don't think it would affect your weight so quickly, would it? I would think that it wouldn't show up until next week, and you've time to pull it back before then. Fingers crossed for you, anyway.0 -
Hi everyone,
Lots of reading to catch up on!!
Well doneshala that's an amazing loss.
lioness you should download the 7 minutes app to your phone if you can. I love it, do it every morning, a mixture of toning and cardio:j
I hope everyone enjoyed their weekend syns whether at the football / theatre / lunch out etc!
STS
for me this week:eek: We were at the full moon party in Koh Phangan on Saturday night, was an amazing atmosphere, fire dancers everywhere and of course the obligatory 'buckets' I tried to be good and kept mine to vodka / diet coke, but every bucket comes with a concentrated bottle of red bull - I think to keep you up to watch the sunrise :rotfl: so probably 40,000 syns in that!
Needless to say yesterday was spent having hangover food ( Thai green curry AND a cheeseburger) and a couple hair of the dog beers!
Anyway today is another day, menu:
B- watermelon
L- papaya salad with prawns
D- there's a restaurant we passed last night that was doing whole red snapper on the BBQ, looked amazing, so hopefully that with steamed rice and veg.
Have a great week everyone0 -

Hi, oh I have not been well today. I keep getting stomach pains after. I have eaten Then I feel sick and. Sweating. So I haven't' eaten all my meals. I think if it's the same tomorrow I shall have to go to the doctors, but, I'm scared. After having had the big C I now feel afraid it could have started somewhere else. Also my stomach is always swollen as though i were pregnant. I can't be at 75 lol I am not doing my menu for tomorrow. I shall see how I feel.
Hopefully it is a bug or something that will pass quickly.. Good luck at the Drs, hopefully they can get it sorted soon. I have digestive issues and often feel sore and uncomfortable so I know how unpleasant it can be. Try not to worry, although easier said than done and let the Dr get you sorted xx0 -
Hope you're feeling better soon whizkid My Mum had similar symptoms to you and feared the worst but it turned out to be IBS (Irritable Bowel Syndrome). Definitely get it checked out, just to put your mind at rest.
HurdyGurdy well done on your fab weightloss, I hope your daughter will be okay.
I'm reporting a 1lb loss this week please shala Congrats on your great loss too!0 -
Beanie – Its dropping off you now! Well done! The crisis talks with yourself have clearly worked! :rotfl:And yes your right it does just keep coming lol.
Greentiger – If we all really want it enough and want to do it we will find a way!
Well I was naughty on Saturday night think toasties and crisps – multiples of both. But been reasonably good rest of the week so hopefully it will not affect me too much. Went to the gym on Saturday and then hit the gin, just needed to chill out with the tv and speak to nobody:rotfl: One of those moods!
Flippin heck Shala, that’s a great loss, well done, pleased for you! :T A good platform for you to move on from now!
Mary - I struggle too with the shopping costs, I feel like I am always out buying salad items, fruit and yogurts! There is just me and I dread to think what I spent if I totted it up over the week. I tend to take advantage of 3 4 £10 offers on meat in Tesco, M&S etc. I do some batch cooking and buy reduced price veg for freezing. As I said it’s the fruit and salad / sandwich meats / mushrooms and peppers etc that I seem to be constantly buying and spending a fortune on. I’m going to have to batch cook some soups and use them for lunches for a while. Most things I buy are on offer and I stock up on things when they are and give them a miss the weeks that they are not etc. It can be a bit of a pain. I buy fruit the same way you do June89, whatever is cheap and in season and frozen berries etc for the freezer. Sometimes I’ll treat myself to the pineapple, mango and melon slices in Asda. Personally I find Pineapple a total pain in the backside to cut so I never buy them whole, always pre sliced. The packs of fruit are def handier sometimes but obviously more expensive. Depends on how much fruit you eat overall I guess and whether its worth it in terms of time, waste, handiness and ease I guess. What you spend on one thing you probably save on something else - comes down to personal preference I guess.
Think I’m going to have one of those weeks where I get a small gain and not really sure why but after catching up on the forum and hearing Denise's wise words I won’t let it get me down. It will be off very soon, as we all know there is no rhyme or reason to it sometimes! The important thing is to keep going and not run off feeling like a failure into the biscuit tin :rotfl: There are going to be weeks predicted / expected or not that we all gain weight. Its how we take it is important.
We don’t have Patisserie Valerie in Northern Ireland! BEG I feel that I def def do not need one to arrive either judging by the pics etc I have seen on Instagram lol. Mind you we only got our first Greggs last year so its doubtful.... Good for you for trying new veg and for giving the ugly ones a chance ! lol :rotfl: I can see a programme on the TV too Ugly to Eat ......................
Good luck at the Dentist Lush
Oh my goodness Hurdy! Hope your daughter is ok and gets better soon! Well done on your loss. :T
