Morning all
Lovely and sunny here this morning, the wind has dropped but it's still bl**dy cold! I thought I'd escaped the winter by going to Spain for 5 months, I didn't expect to come back to it at the end of May. It actually snowed here yesterday too.Hello all,
Lovely to hear of those getting to target AND staying there - my biggest fear is that I'll get slack and all the weight will creep back on...
Well, todays WI was a big surprise - 5.5lbs Really wasn't expecting that!
Must be the carry over from last weeks efforts
Great result Orlao -:T it shows that being good has a catch up affect as well as not being good.
I've been to target and not maintained so it's a worry for me too, but the advice I'd offer is not to think 'I've made it, now I can forget about the plan'. SW promote their plan as a healthy eating lifestyle so you need to carry on making the same healthy food choices you've been making to get to target.
If you go to class make sure you carry on going every month, it focusses the mind! The target members' stories are good examples for keeping the weight off without living life feeling deprived. If you don't go to class give yourself the same leeway (3lbs either way), weigh yourself once a week at the same time of day, and you'll know if you need to be strict with yourself for a few days to get back within your range.
I have a friend who has a pencil skirt that she's had for years - she never wears it out, she just tries it on every now and then and if it's too tight, she watches her diet for a while until it's loose again.Thank you for the belated birthday wishes. I was sort of dreading this year, I don't know why. We also lost my dad at a young age, and as I get closer to this it point I can't help thinking and reflecting. Does anyone else find difficulty striking a balance between living for today and planning for tomorrow? I know it's not necessarily SW related, but thought I'd ask.

Happy belated birthday Arkers.
DH was like you - his Dad died at 62 from lung cancer so DH approached that age with some trepidation. He passed it this year and now thinks he's going to live forever....
In a sense, eating healthily is a plan for the future. I'm doing it to hopefully avoid some of the health risks that come with being overweight, like Type 2 diabetes, stroke, heart disease (if it's not too late.)
Better go - got my appointment with the nurse this morning.
Have a good day.

Thanks, I only use 100ml a day if I'm having it so will think of as 1 syn. Not counting syns at the minute as trying to stick to my training plan which is difficult in the middle of all that is going on, but nice to have the know the syns are low.
Thanks Lush :A0 -
Thanks for the tip Denise, must try that sometime. I don't like milk at all so was quite surprised to find that I like this and its seems healthy so I'll def keep with it.
Shala, lol that is all.
Arkers - That's a tough one, when I was unwell last year I had lots of worrying thoughts, some about the future and death etc. Sort of having a few of them again with what has happened to my Aunt but nowhere on the same scale thankfully. No idea at all, I personally just think you have to go through things and work them out with yourself. It seems you sail along and then something slaps you in the face every so often, stops you from the hurtling about and makes you think often about things you don't really want to have to think about.
I'm a great believer in trying to be happy with yourself and your own actions and trying to find something enjoyable in everyday no matter what is going on in life. Hugs x0 -
-1/2LB for me this morning.
That means I have stayed the same over the challenge which what I've been doing for around a year!
I'm out for lunch with my girlfriends at a deli coffee shop so heaven knows what will be on the menu and this evening my son has a cricket match - too early to eat before we go and too late once we get home so I'll have to pack something up. It might rain of course and if so normal service will resume.0 -
Me again
Just back from my health check, I was weighed, and according to the health centre records I've lost 1 stone since last year, and 3 stone since October 2014. Not sure why my records differ from their's but I'll take that. :j.

Great news about your health check lois. OK so their records may not mirror SW scales but it'll spur you going forward.
Your comments struck a chord with me too.
SW is now my default, 'normal' way of eating. I do have some off plan meals and even off plan weeks when I'm on holiday but I always go back to a SW meal plan at home. I find going off plan when I'm out (rather than buying in synful things) is helpful too.
I'd echo what you said about going to group after getting to target too. I only go about once a month, partly because it means I maintain access to the website, but also because it keeps me in touch. It's free so why not take advantage.
I don't weigh at home. We threw the scales away because they were getting dusty and neglected because we didn't like what they said and I've never replaced them nor do I intend to. I've mentioned on here that the 'clean jeans' test works for me as I can always tell from the feel of them how I'm doing. Last night I wore jeans without a belt and spent the whole evening pulling them up!:DHi, everyone, this is what I have eaten today
Breakfast.. Bran flakes A/B mixed berries.
Lunch.. Slipped up here I had a Hollands potato pie and mushy peas And it tasted GOOD. Naughty naughty !
Dinner none just a mousse 5 syns , banana.
Extras 2 ryvitas 3 Syns.
I'm glad you enjoyed your pie wiz. It was probably 20+ syns but you've saved about 8 syns today and if you're careful for the rest of the week you should be fine.
I met some friends for a drink last night so wine syns were consumed. Could have been worse as we often have a meal as well but timing didn't work so I came home and had a bowl of HM soup.
Today's EE plan:
B: NAS grapefruit, HEB porage with HEA milk
L: veggie (mushrooms, spring onions, tomato) omelette with picklesChicken casserole (celery, onion, mushrooms, courgette, leeks, carrots, butter beans) with new potatoes and broccoli
Syns: squirt of syrup, tbsp.(shared) of cornflour0 -
Morning all,
slipped up and had a Danish pastry at a work event this morning. I've checked on the app and its looking at 19 syns - not too bad really and I have planned no syns for tea anyway so I'll dust myself off and move forward!
Lunch: homemade leek and potato soup, Satsuma and kiwi
mid afternoon: strawberries and grapes
tea: salad (the others are having something from the freezer); lettuce, beetroot, pickled onions, cucumber, pepper, tomatoes, tuna, boiled egg.
did a naughty weigh at home this morning which indicates a stsbut we will see what the scales say at group tomorrow!

Good morning everyone,
Thank you for the belated birthday wishes. I was sort of dreading this year, I don't know why. We also lost my dad at a young age, and as I get closer to this it point I can't help thinking and reflecting. Having reached my 70th year and had a horrible scare at new year when it was thought I had experienced a stroke I can well relate to finding it difficult now to strike a balance. On the one hand I feel yes go for it live for today, cos you don't know if tomorrow is going to happen but on the other hand if I don't plan for a future then I am just marking time which is a depressing thought.
Soooo my plan is to get as much out of life as I can when I can and not give up on the idea of a healthy few more years yet. That means sticking to SW to ensure I stay pain free because I know if I put the weight back on my knees will tell me about it
At my 70th party last August I told my family I intended to go all out for my 100th fingers crossed eh.Slimming World at target0 -
Interesting discussion today, I'm an all or nothing kind of person so when I'm focussed and doing it then that's fine but when I fall along the wayside then I'm in trouble! I tend to do what maman does and have treat meals when we go out, but I shouldn't really as I'm not at target yet! We go out so rarely i see it as a treat though.
My family have illnesses very early on - my dad had his first heart attack/bypass at 47 (his 2nd at 62) and my mom passed away at 48 so I really need to pull my socks up and start getting healthy.. it still doesn't seem to have registered with me though that I'm on track for the same..
Can't wait till you get to 100 too Meg, i can't wait for the birthday party for that one!I missed you off the "target" list didn't i, sorry - :T:T:T to you for being on target! (maybe i should put a roll of honour on the first page of you lovely ladies!)
menu for today
B - scan bran carrot _pale_ cake (0.5 heb) yogurt
L - frittata (part hea) salad
T - sweet potato falafels, salad, mint yogurt
S - crisps (4) milk (part hea)
still have 0.5 heb left so i'll have alpen light for pud or something.
