Good morning everyone,
Well done Rebster on SOTW. Top marks for Shala for doing a lovely job with the chart.
New ME hope your DH is ok A&E is not conducive to healthy eating. JD hope DH's op went ok?
Lois, sounds like you're getting together the start of a lovely wardrobe for summer. I managed to grab a bargain at a local "clothing warehouse," they sell new/barely used quality clothes. It was a pair of New (still had tags on) legging style NYJS legging style jeans for £7. I felt like the cat that had got the cream as I'm sure they'd retail at £80. I have had a few pair of these that I've snaffled second hand hardly worn, but even though I like them I'd cringe at paying the new price. Good luck with the WI this evening:).
I have managed to weight bear long enough since my op, and I have lost 6.5 lbs since I last weighed, and I'm within 0.5 lbs of the next stone. I am now 7lbs from the target weight I had in mind. I am really, really chuffed. The problem I now have, and I hope this doesn't make me sound weird is if/when I get to target then what then. It then becomes a battle in my mind not to throw caution to the wind like I have done so many times in the past and scoff my head off and undoe all the good work. I think I'll need the support of this thread even more. x:D
Weight loss to date in total 41lbs with 7 more to go!!! When is the next challenge Shala, as this will be my target.

Yeah I think the cauliflower base would be low in carbs and probably calories...I'll probably go for the steak anyway
Well done Rebster on SOTW!!
Hope the poorly hubbies feel better soon ((hugs))
I had a really lovely tea last night...I made SW chips, oven roasted tomatoes, sauteed mushroom and fried onions and two fried eggs (all with frylight) - it felt so indulgent and really tasty.
Food today...
B: 0% greek yog with raspberries and blueberries
L: speed tomato soup (really tasty...need to make a new soup for tomorrow) with ham and cheese sandwich - loads of lettuce, made up mustard (HE a and b)never quite sure at this time of day...pick up some SW sausages at Iceland and picked up a pack of casserole veggies so might do a chicken casserole.

Morning everyone
Well done Rebster on SOTW :T That chart doesn't make fab reading for me I'm in plus figures weight-loss wise  Hoping to make a bit of a dent in that this week. Well done others who have lost this week. I've tried to be low carb this week, not totally SP as I've still had yoghurts and the odd jacket spud but I'm feeling lighter and better about myself after last week's visit from mother nature  so hoping the scales will be kind to me
Today's food:
B - all bran with milk, 2 satsumas
L - beans on toast (6 syns), carrot sticks for snacking on while working
T - SW ready meal chicken tikka with something other than rice, probably spinach and some speedy veg
More syns to play with later if I fancy them but will try and keep them low as WI tomorrow
Have a good day everyone
xx0 -
Thanks Shala for your good wishes to DH. Just hoping that the operation has worked but won't know for a few weeks yet. He's waiting for a follow up appointment for the consultant in 6-8 weeks time. Will need to have some therapy on his wrist in a couple of weeks time so waiting for an appointment for that too.
Having a Green day today:
B - mushroom omlette; baked beans
L - mixed veg soup; HEB1 - bread. Using Kingsmill crustless so 3 slices allowed so may use one with the soup and then have a marmite sandwich after:D
D - mixed bean goulash with rice
Will have some Ryvita & cheese during the evening (HEA2/HEB2)
HEA1 will be milk in tea as usual
No idea about syns but may have a few squares of dark chocolate again - 4 syns.

Cauliflower base for the Pizzas Maman? Would they not be syn free?gingerfurball wrote: »Morning -

Sorry about that. That'll teach me to speed read.:o I think I'd be trying them out t see what they were like. I wonder if they do take outs?:D
That sounds like a long, gruelling day at the hospital denise. Glad it's over for your DH and that he'll get good news from the consultant. :T for sensible eating. The 'shopping mall' area of our local hospital is being revamped and I noticed they now have a M&S food shop and M&S caff. Didn't eat anything as was just picking someone up but it made me feel hopeful.
Hope all is OK with you too new me?
Tried the bikini bottoms on this morning and the size 12s fit fine. So a NSV and an incentive to stay slim for my holidays.
Arkers, it took me about 10 months to get to target and by that time SW was sufficiently ingrained that it's become my default way of eating. I do a weekly meal plan and shop full of SW friendly things and try to keep wine syns to weekends only. I go off plan for meals out and holidays but find that any gains quickly go once I get back on it.
It is a bit of a tight rope but I'm so delighted being slim again that I never, ever want to gain the weight ever again. I think the official way is to have a few extra HEXs but personally I prefer extra syns an I find that by using them mostly to eat out its safer than having them at home.
We're eating out tonight so probably very synful. I have had SW breakfast (baked beans with HEB toast) and a SW lunch (lentil and veg soup) planned so it's not all bad. Back on it 100% tomorrow.0 -
Hi all
Well, I've done it, I'm now a fully paid up member of SW again. I decided to get there at the start time today as I thought the consultant might want to do the new starter talk before Image Therapy and I was right. There were 4 starters today and it was a busy group, lots of people weighed and left but there were still 20+ that stayed. I had 2 hours free parking and when she started going round the room she was spending quit a lot of time with each person and I started to worry that I'd have to go before she finished but i didn't.
There was definitely a theme today - drinking! She highlighted SWs new syn values for different strengths of wine and said Prosecco was the lowest, someone asked how many syns for a bottle!
I bought the magazine and there are some recipes I'm going to try - I've been fancying meatballs for a few days and they're in, they need 5% pork mince though, I'm not sure how easy that is to find, anyone buy it regularly?
Best wishes to the poorly husbands, hope they get well soon.
Arkers - maintaining is definitely a challenge so you need a strategy to follow when you get to target. If you attend a class it's definitely worth continuing to get weighed once a month, it focuses the mind! If you're not already a member it might be worth joining now, setting the target you want and then you can attend FOC when you get there.
It's lovely here today, hope everyone's enjoying some sunshine.

LL - well done on signing up today. At least with others joining at the same time you'll have people to talk to next week as it seems most new joiners seem to sit together at least for the first few weeks!
I often buy 5% pork mince from Mr Ts. Don't know if the other SMs do it as haven't really looked. I usually use it for meatballs in a hoisin broth (which is basically stock with a couple of Tablespoons of hoisin sauce in it); also contains the usual Asian veg - baby corn, water chestnuts, beanspouts & chopped Chinese leaves. Think the recipe was in an old magazine but may well be on the website.
