So I had a bit of a drama tonight (sorted now, don't worry) which meant going off plan for dinner. Not massively so, but probably about 20 syns instead of the planned 10 as I had a side of chips instead of salad. Didn't even look at DH's chocolate though which would have been my old way of dealing with the stress. So counting it as a win, will pull it back tomorrow!
  • Thank you to everyone for the very helpful feedback :D I'll try to make sure I have a B choice from now on, even if it's just a couple of hi fi bars when I'm out and about.

I don't think my consultant is particularly helpful, but the group is always packed, so she must be doing something right! I have to go to a daytime group and this one's at a convenient time, but I'll have a look round in case there's another one I can get to.

    Today I've had:

Breakfast: porridge (HEB) with blueberries, strawberries & honey (1)
Lunch: at Harvester - salmon (plain grilled, no sauce), jacket potato, carrot, sweetcorn, peppers and a little bit of pasta (2 - I added a couple of Syns as it might have had oil on it)
Dinner: Quorn mince with tomatoes, onions, mushrooms, kidney beans & chickpeas plus rice (2)
Extras: hot chocolate made with milk (HEA) (5), hi fi bar (3)

Has anyone tried making a carrot cake with scan bran before? I found this recipe: https://www.minimins.com/threads/super-simple-extra-easy-speedy-syn-free-carrot-cake.230227/ and thought I'd give it a try…..

Maman - thank you for the tip about speed foods, I've taken to carrying a list with me now!!

Ruby, I've made that carrot cake a couple of times now and I like it. I wouldn't necessarily say it tastes like carrot cake but I still find it nice to have with a cup of tea :)

Every time it's sunny, I go hunting around the house for any washing that needs doing. I get sad when there's not enough for a load, such a waste of sun. :rotfl: I did go for a walk this morning though, brisk but lovely! And the cat is currently sunning herself in the lounge, very happy girl.

Red day for me today. Since I realised that my "EE" days almost always work on red, love getting my second B back. :D

Breakfast - Weetabix with banana and berries, latte (A1,B1)
Lunch - SW sausage rolls (B2+2) and salad. Maybe some ketchup (1)
Dinner - Beef stew. This has potatoes in it as I just use a casserole veg pack but I'll dish those to DH so mine stays red.
Snacks - Apple and cheese (A2)

I did peek on the scales this morning to see what the damage was from last night's episode and I've actually lost another pound. But will keep my syns today lowish just in case it hasn't caught up with me yet.

    Morning :)

Happy Mother's Day to all the mums, hope somebody has treated you today.

Sorry for not posting much, I've had a busy few days. I've also been reading a book that was hard to put down so any spare time I have had has been devoted to that. I finished it this morning and now I've got that sense of mourning - I wanted it to go on longer. :(

This week I've really been trying to stay on plan 100% but it's all come undone this weekend. We went to a wine tasting on Friday night and everyone took along some nibbles, which usually would be an excuse to eat peanuts and crisps, but I decided to take something healthy, I made some blue cheese dip with Quark and took celery and carrot sticks to dip in. Unfortunately I also let DH persuade me to buy a bag of Doritos, with every intention not to eat them, but we took left over dip home with us and finished it off with Doritos. :o

We were out all day yesterday and took packed lunch with us, all free, but then had fish and chips last night. I didnt eat many chips but I did eat the batter, I was so hungry.

We're out again tonight - a dinner and dance, so at least walking there and back and dancing will counteract for any syns consumed for the meal.

Fingers crossed for my weigh in tomorrow.

Hope everyone else is doing better than I am, enjoy the rest of the weekend.

    LL :)
