Welcome to the SW thread Rubyslippers and well done on your 3lb loss. That's a great start.

You'll soon get your head around the SW plan with the help of your consultant, group and everyone on here. You might find it helpful to post your menus on here and there will always be someone around who can comment on them and point out if you're doing anything wrong. The advantage on posting on here is that you'll get immediate feedback rather than having to wait for your consultant to let you know if you're doing something wrong.

Have got another day out today so will be sticking to EE and hoping to still keep it low syn.

B - porridge made with water; strawberries
L - eating out somewhere I've never been before and no idea what eateries are around - hopefully something like a Weatherspoons or KFC where I can have something low syn
D - LO roast chicken, boiled potatoes, veg

    Morning all :)

Hi Rubyslippers, welcome to the thread and good luck with the challenge. Feel free to ask any questions about the SW plan, there is a wealth of knowledge amongst us. :)

The result of my WI this morning was another STS. Not a great start to the challenge, life has been getting in the way of weight loss recently.

    Have a good week everyone.

Debjay that's a great loss, well done! My official weigh in on Friday showed a half pound loss but a sneaky peak at the scales this morning showed a 2 pound gain over the weekend! Best behaviour and lots of water this week ready for first challenge weigh in on Friday.

Think today might be EE but need to make a meal plan - DH did the shopping this week so need to see what he actually bought! Hate being plan less!

  • Morning all. Well despite worrying about portion sizes and too many carbs, my first week has apparently resulted in a 9lb loss, which I can hardly believe to be honest. I suspect a very large part of that is an initial adjustment to cutting out the bottle of wine I was drinking per day. I wondered if my scales might be faulty but they are digital, so guessing quite accurate? Anyway, it's a great springboard to what I hope will be continuing success, albeit much slower! Off to enter my new weight on the SW website xx Well done to everyone else who's lost this week xx
  • Ps techy question - using an iPad, can someone tell me how to return to the first unread post? My bookmark only brings me to the page I was last on - thanks!

Just a quick post as I'm on my break.. happy belated birthday wishes Tweets..

Brilliant loses and targets coming in :D

    Welcome onboard rubyslippers...

Just wanted to let you know a lady kindly shared an app on faceb00k (on the 2 Chubby cubs page) called Slimming Tracker and it can be used as a SW tracker.. I've found it quite helpful, it's free too!

Might help some of you who prefer to use phones/tablets to track food instead of pen and paper... you do have to manually enter syns but if you know then already then it's no bother really.

    :D right back to work!!

  • Morning everyone

Haven't read the last few pages, but popping in to ask to join the new challenge and to report a new attitude. Been to the gym this morning for the first time in 6 months, eating my overnight oats, will force myself to cook and menu plan and will lose weight, because if I don't I will be knackered forever!

So I'd like to aim for 21lbs for the next 9 weeks, I can always adjust down if it turns out to be completely unrealistic, but if I can do that it'll get me back to last summer's weight which is a great starting point.

Be back at lunchtime to catch up on the thread

  • Morning all - I don't get on the computer over the weekend so I'm just catching up now...happy belated birthday tweets :)

Weekend was good enough food wise...I did have wine Friday, Saturday and Sunday but not as much as I normally would and hubby and I didn't have the massive take away we normally have on Sunday night (had cheese on toast instead which we really enjoyed)

This week I'm challenging my self to drink a whole lot more water...I normally just sip on tea all day long but I'm hoping to get at least two litres of water a day in me.

Also I normally make quite complicated meals at night but this week I'm going to simplify and just have a protein with salad and some sweet potato *fries*...I know SW recommend variety in your diet but I think this will keep me on the straight and narrow and get me kicked off in the challenge. Also eating fruit which I normally avoid...mostly berries and mandarin oranges....so today:

B: Porridge made with almond milk, strawberries, blueberries and a plain yogurt.
    L: Chicken salad
D: Thinking salmon with salad and sweet potatoes...

Saving Syns for the weekend wine :)
