Had a lovely day out yesterday but it's back to normal today. Still need to do next month's menu plan, not even started on it yet!

Today will be an EE day:

    B - bacon, egg, mushrooms & beans; toast & butter (HEB + 2 syns)
L - LO oriental porkballs in hoisin broth (1.5 syns)
D - Roast chicken, roasted potatoes, carrots, onions, peppers & garlic; brussels, splash of gravy (1 syn)

HEA will be 300ml 1% milk

Hoping to keep low syn for the next few days to make up for going over the last couple of days.

Happy birthday tweets! Sorry, I skimmed the posts before my update and missed it. Hope you had a lovely day.

Yesterday was funny. I fully intended to have a full on blow out as I was frustrated by the small losses recently. But I somehow talked myself down from originally a takeaway pizza and sides, to a shop bought one and oven chips, then finally to a shop bought base with my own toppings and SW chips. Ended up only using 9 syns on it, had a small handful of chocolate and I was done! I think SW is just in my brain now, I don't want the masses of food I used to.

    Today...
Breakfast - Weetabix with fruit and coffee (A/B)
    Lunch - Fry up
Dinner - DH is making goulash from the old red days cookbook

I think I'm going to track down info on red days, as I used to enjoy those when I did SW a few years ago. Just to mix it up from SP days a bit. My consultant is reasonably new, so I don't think she's been trained on them. Just won't tell her and do my own thing, as I always do. :rotfl:
  • Hi all. Still finding my way. Yesterday was

B - Porridge 35g (HEB) made with splash semi skimmed, water, banana & blueberries
L - sandwich (small wholemeal, 2 slices = 6 syns) filled with free stuff
    Apple, satsuma
D Veg & bean chilli with SW chips
Small fat free raspberry yoghurt - half a syn
    Small brandy later 3 syns

Feeling good but that just seems too much (carby?) to lose weight. Time will tell! :o

Morning everyone, hope the weekend's going well :) Happy belated birthday tweeets!

Not had a chance to post my menus the last day or two but have been on plan, promise! Went to Bella Italia for lunch yesterday and tried one of their spiralized veg dishes - the lamb ragu one - was nice but not amazing - felt like portion could have been a little bigger - they've made a big deal about having a low calorie menu where all the meals are under 300 calories, but personally I would have preferred they'd made them say 400 calories (which is still low for a main meal) but just made the portions a little bigger! Got myself some more Scan Bran and made another carrot cake, with a bit more carrot this time, and fairly pleased with it. Might try some of the other recipes soon. Decided I'm going to try another SP week this week, see if I can't get things moving a bit!! Made a meal plan and will be going shopping shortly, just waiting for Aldi to open!!

One thing I'm hoping to make is this lamb and apricot casserole: http://online.slimmingworld.co.uk/recipes/lamb-and-apricot-casserole.aspx - does anyone know if I'm OK to count the dried apricots as a heB? Also, I'd like to make this in the slow cooker but I'm never quite sure how to adapt recipes, does anyone have any advice? I'm guessing I should reduce the amount of liquid but I don't know by how much...

Morello - Blueberries are only free, rather than speed. So ideally your breakfast would use one of the speed berries instead. But sounds delicious!

Rebster - It's fine to count the apricots as your HEB (provided it's the right amount, of course) as it doesn't matter if you cook B choice fruit since it's already a controlled portion. One of the quirks of SW!

Morello - it's fairly easy to do the casserole in the SC you just need to cut back on the amount of stock you use; you probably don't need more than about half of what it says as SW recipes often seem to be far too wet. The amount of apricots in the recipe isn't enough to use a quarter of the amount as HEB - it works out at more like 0.5 HEB per portion so you could have perhaps an Alpen Light or a Light Hifi bar to top up your HEB or alternatively add more apricots to make it up to 4 x HEB (ie 240g of apricots) so that one portion would be a full HEB.

    Afternoon all :)

Happy belated birthday Tweets, hope you've enjoyed all your treats.

Well, so much for coming back later as I said on my last post! DH and I arranged to go to the golf range with another couple. They had something else they needed to do and we expected them at midday but they arrived half an hour earlier, so I had to cut short my post. After the golf range we decided to have lunch out, then we ended up spending the rest of the day at there's and didn't come home till midnight!

Been out for a walk this morning but it's quite windy here - at least it's blown any cobwebs away. Planning to relax for the rest of the day! Lunch will be salad and we're having salmon with new potatoes and veg later, and no wine syns - I've used them all up the last 2 nights.

Hoping for a loss tomorrow to start the new challenge off on the right foot.

Hope everyone's having a good weekend, hugs to anyone not feeling well.

Thanks for the help June and Denise :). It's bubbling away in the slow cooker now so fingers crossed it goes OK!
