Do you think you binged Shala coz you were being too strict with the carbs etc? I know I am sometimes guilty of that. :o
Deprive myself of things and then go wild. :(

What are we thinking of doing with the next challenge? Letting it run on over Easter or hold off until after it.

I don't think so.. I haven't stuffed myself with bread and that. Its just hormones added to work stress makes me want to comfort eat and there were lots of temptations at work :( I've nibbled stuff that I shouldn't but it all adds up..

I made myself pasta last night and didn't like it at all so I didn't eat it :( can't believe I've gone off pasta what's that about!?

The next challenge will run 29th Feb - 1st May if that's ok with everyone, when's Easter?
    Mortgage amount at 31/12/2011 £166,050 now £0 as at Sept 21 - 15yrs 4 months early.

    Thanks June - that's really helpful :)

Made chicken supreme for the first time tonight - yum! Probably the nicest SW recipe I've made so far. If I make it again I might try adding some speed to the pan - maybe some spinach. I decided to experiment with my leftover quark by mixing it with some chocshot. Not an experiment I will be repeating!! And I had such high hopes:rotfl:

    Today's menu:
B: bran flakes (heB) & clementine
    L: tuna & egg salad (1 syn)
D: chicken supreme with green beans
S: milk (heA), lots of speed fruit, carrot sticks and SW houmous, quark and chocshot (3 syns)

Still got 11 syns to play with and my second heB. Might have an alpen light with a cup of tea in a bit :)
  • Thanks so much for all your birthday wishes. I have had a couple of lovely days - yesterday DS and his fiance brought pressies and cream cakes around 10.30 . Went out for lunch yesterday and Mum came out with us too (only 2nd time she has been out since op in Nov). Meal included Roasted Red Pepper, BNS and Goats Cheese Tart - opted for new pots instead of chips :p but did have baked cheesecake for dessert and the only way I could get out of driving was by drinking alcohol :o. At teatime I was convinced by DH that it would be a good idea to have chippy tea ... I did have a small pensioners portion - no I'm not that old yet you cheeky lot :rotfl:. Today has been really nice too as DH and I had a nice shopping trip. Food out involved a Subway salad :p. However it also included the most glorious buttery tasting scone I have ever had in my life.. When I got home DB had left us a huge chunk of one of his three retirement cakes. Yes, I have had a small slice but in my defense I did remove some of the icing.

A line will be drawn now and get back on it. Have enjoyed everything I have had but really need to behave myself now.

Great NSV today - bought a size 14 biker jacket from Primani and it was only £14 - win win is what I say. :D

I cannot remember whether I told you maman that we really enjoyed the Szechuan Beef with Noodles. Tonight we tried it with chicken instead of beef (couldn't be bothered to go into Asda on way home). I think it worked but DH said he preferred it with beef.

  • Not been here for a few days, so very late reporting in. I have been focused on my friend's 12 year old daughter, who underwent 15 hours of open heart surgery last week, which seems not to have been a success, as the last message from her mum was that they are now looking for a new heart for her :cry::cry:.

That kind of puts the rest of my woes and problems very much into perspective. So I STS this week, which I am quite pleased about, having actually anticipated a gain.

I went out for lunch today and chose the "guilt free healthier option" pizza which is under 500 calories. When I asked on a FB support group what the syns would be, I almost cried when the answer was "28". Nearly two days' worth of syns on a tiny pizza that barely touched the sides.

I was so close to just giving up and getting the Ben and Jerry's out of the freezer, which would have been my fallback position previously. It is taking every ounce of willpower not to give in to the urge!

I can't go back through all the posts since I was last on the thread, so i will just say - well done to those who lost, and chin up to those who gained/maintained.
  • Good evening! Happy birthday BEG and well done to HurdyGurdy for SOTW! Some other fab losses rolling in as well, brilliant everyone!

OMG - WHAT????? I haven't been here for a few days (as per my post above) so I had no idea.

Wow - thank you thank you thank you. That has put a huge grin on my face. And sorry for not acknowledging it sooner. I am pleased as Punch though.

Brilliant effort, Mavvers, Midge and lantanna.

Fingers crossed for your scan, Abbafan.

Belated birthday wishes, b_e_g. I hope the small pensioner wasn’t too traumatised when you nabbed the fish supper!

HurdyGurdy, sending hugs to you, your friend and her daughter. It certainly puts things in perspective.

Well, not a bad day again. Let’s hope I do as well tomorrow.

  • Morning everyone!

Day 1 of no Pepsi Max was a success. Drank my 4 bottles of squash. What helped with this was that I divided the day into 4 hour segments and made sure I refilled the bottle at the start of each time slot! Didn't get any headaches either. Half way through my 1st bottle for today. Hopefully this should save a fair bit of money too. We normally get through a 2 litre bottle a day between us (most of it me) which I usually buy on special offer for a £1. Even if I only ever buy it on special offer I will still save £365 across the year!

Tried a salmon and ratatouille recipe from Lean in 15 last night. I though it was very tasty but DH not so much. Having said that he is generally not a fan of fish or vegetables!

    Menu for today:

    B - overnight oats (heb)
    L - spicy lentil soup, 2 x ryvita (3), laughing cow (hea)
D - beef chilli, rice, ff greek yoghurt, berries
    S - clementine, banana, kitkat (5.5), popcorn (4.5)
  • Hi everyone

I've been a bit AWOL, reading but not posting

Well done hurdygurdy for SOTW and belated happy birthday BEG

Well it was bound to happen sooner or later as I'd done well with losses but unfortunately I'm reporting a gain of 3.5lbs
It's a mixture of star week (aka candyapple eats like a gannet week) and way too much comfort eating. Someone I work with passed away last week and although I didn't know her too well, she was my age which is just a bit bloomin scary. Hence I've been comfort eating. A lot. So I'm quite amazed that I've not put more weight on tbh :rotfl: I'll have a loss next week though I'm convinced, got my positive pants on. Well done everyone who's managed to get a loss this week!

I've been wide awake since 6.30am which is when OH noisily  left for work so I've been hugely productive. The washing up's done, 2 loads in the washer done and I'm trying something new for tea - gammon joint in my SC in fizzy diet orange. I saw a lady doing something similar on instagram a few weeks ago and the finished result looked so yum, whether mine will also be yum remains to be seen! Have never cooked a joint of meat in my SC before so if it goes well I'll definitely do it again.

    Have a good day everyone
