Don't have a spare current account. What is the fastest account I can open to then immediately switch?
Got to be Metro Bank hasn't it?...since you leave branch with both debit card and online access.
  • I had to go into a branch to verify my ID, even though I've had a HSBC credit card for over 10 years, a previous current account and previous mortgage! Anyway, did that, then phoned up to arrange the switch. Still waiting for debit card. You only have 31 days to get the switch done I think to qualify for the £120, so don't leave it too long before you phone up.

Thought this was going too well. Applied beginning of the month, recently got approved and was sent account details so rather than delay I phoned up to start the switch.

I have now been told that they can't do anything without a Telephone Security Number which will take another 5 working days to arrive.

This happened to me yesterday too. Why can't they send the telephone number out sooner!!

2 weeks in and no letter for me; and each new post I see here is telling me to go to the branch and sort it out...

Received my acceptance letter ( with sort code and account number ) on Monday 18th. Date on their letter was 04th. When I checked with them I was advised that 04th was the date the account was opened. They didn't have an answer as to why it took 14 days to reach me. Provisional switch date is 01st Feb, which they have confirmed will still qualify me for the cash incentive. Strange.

Have received a letter this afternoon from HSBC. Because they do not have a copy of my signature I must take ID into my local branch.
  • Letter asking me to confirm ID a week or two ago, despite holding FD and HSBC acs in the past.

    Nothing since that though.

    Meh, CBA now.

I just applied and got the following:

Is it because I applied outside of working hours?

Has anyone else had the same message and been accepted?

I had this message then recieved a letter saying I was accepted subject to ID and address verification.

I'm assuming that HSBC account applications are not live and processed by a human at the other end.
