Still no reply from HSBC or bank card but I did get a letter dated 15/04/16 telling me to deposit £500 to keep account open. I've emailed them via internet banking (no reply) so see if resolver can do anything.

Certainly hot a happy bunny with this bank it must be said

I'm still waiting for my £120 from opening account in Jan and switching 11th Feb. Complained but they never get back to me. Reckon I may have to take it further. Avoid this bank like the plague

I've been shocked at how bad HSBC has been to deal with. Not rude or unpleasant, just obviously lacking the right processes.

I did manage to clear the £120 incentive after chasing them but having spent 3x20 minutes on hold to them today and being forced to hang up each time because I needed to do something else, I'm just going to switch away from them. I was going to do the courtesy of opening a regular saver but I won't bother. I'll do it with M&S instead.

  • I applied by 28th/29th, got my welcome letter dated 5th march and account opened on 18th march.. Still no payment though, dunno how so many people got theirs so quick. It is due to be paid by 14th may.

Finally received a reply to my complaint saying everything was my fault......yet they will honour switch incentive & money is now in my account.

I had originally intended on using HSBC for the 6% linked savings account but their customer service is a joke. I'll now let this account sit empty until next switch incentive

I have now just received my switch bonus on 28th April, finally! I was going to get rid of this account asap coz of the absolutely awful service in getting this account up and running. But decided to keep it in the mean time for the regular saver!

HSBC have sent a letter warning me I must pay in £500 a month or my account will be downgraded to a current account, my account is a current account.

Then you are fine. Its the 'bank' current account that needs a minimum of £500 credit turnover a month.
On 'current' account terms you miss out only on the likes of an overdraft facility and access to accounts like the regular saver which pays 4% and loyalty cash isa.
