Well I applied end of feb, account was opened 11th march apparently, got cards about 2 days ago, set up online, switching service procedure started. They are calling back on Tuesday to make sure we received the pack and switch due to start on 1st april and the lady on the phone said we should just make it for the incentive before the deadline. We will see.0

My switching documents are still AWOL after calling last Friday. (Thx to the advice of a poster above) I rang today and fibbed that I had received and read them. They said okay and confirmed the switch date.0

There is a backlog, I got a letter yesterday telling me my card was on the day, I got it more than a week ago.0

In their paperwork they gave me it says they will pay you £10 if they don't make the following promises:
- debit card sent out within 5 working days of opening
- pin number sent out within 7 working days of opening.0 -

That's exactly what I seen on HSBC website some time ago but cannot find it anymore.0 -
They can keep the £10 as long as I get the £150. Not that greedy.0

I sent a secure message to HSBC yesterday. Got credited £20 today for the delay in card and pin number. They also confirmed that I am eligible for the £120 incentive.0 -
Applied 29th December. Account opened 26th January, paperwork didn't arrive until 12th February, switch paperwork didn't arrive in time. I complained and they extended the deadline and paid £120 on the day the switch was complete - about 2 days past the deadline. They offered £20 compensation for delay in opening and switching account which I rejected. Took case to Financial Ombudsman. HSBC contacted me yesterday, apologised for delays and failure to deal with complaint properly and credited my account with a further £150. Service in opening the account has been terrible, but lady yesterday understood my issues, apologised and helped rectify them. Did say they had been overwhelmed by the popularity of the offer. Given the apology I might keep the account open to use the 6% regular saver.0
