Switch completed 29th January - 120.00 paid today :j0

Mine too!!
Do I need to maintain the £500 monthly pay in now? I don't use the account for anything else, it will just sit and await another switching opportunity now.0 -
Received £100 compensation for all the messing around HSBC have done with trying to open an account.
Thanks to Jennifer_Jane who I think was the first person to mention the possibility of claiming compensation.0 -
Account applied for on Jan 1st (I think)...
confirmed in branch that account actually opened on Jan 5th...
Switch completed on Feb 7th...
Incentive paid today!
Happy days... now where is that account going to switch to next...:cool:0 -
Finally got acknowledgement of complete mess-up from start, and given £180 in compensation for the hassle and in acknowledgement that their delays mean switch offer cannot be completed within the 30 days (long over now), so no switching incentive possible.
Oddly different treatment to others who, after complaining, had their switch period extended.
I could, perhaps, still argue for that. But frankly I've lost the will to live with this one, and £180 is £60 more than I originally expected, which is nice.
Annoying, for me, that it took so much effort.
But probably more annoying, if they bother to analyse their handling of my complaint, for HSBC, that in acknowledging the switch incentive won't be paid they've, er, removed any incentive to switch. So I won't switch. And so the new account is completely useless to me as it is unneeded. And so it will itself be switched soon.
An own goal for HSBC.
And they still haven't sent a PIN number for the debit card. Completely useless outfit!0 -
Well, I received a PIN in the post today for a 3rd card.... what a mess of a bank, lol.0

So, applied for this on 13th Feb 2016 , had "your application has been accepted" letter dated 15th & sent off the enclosed Signature record form. Had a 2nd letter dated 16th wanting Customer Security Form filled in to be able to send me access to Internet / Telephone banking. Filled in & posted 22nd and since then ....... NOTHING.
Assuming 13th was my"open" date, I very much doubt if I'll get my existing switch within the 30 days now - just tried phoning to see what the delay is and if I can do it by phone - and there's a 25 minute waiting time on their help line......
I've recently switched 2 other accounts from / to other banks & they all went smoothly & very quickly - is this a sign of what is to come with HSBC? Should I give up now & find a new home for my money??0 -
the 25 min waiting time is wrong in my experience, ive had that message every time I've called but always spoke to someone within 10 mins (which is still poor imo).
Your account opening date probably wont be the 13th. My account wasnt "open" until 4th Feb (according to advisor) yet I applied and was accepted online on the 22nd Jan.
edit: if you're not going to use their regular saver, I would say yes definitely switch away from them!0 -
Debit card received last week.
Chequebook received on Tuesday.
Now Friday, no PIN for my debit card yet.
What a shambles of a bank.
Switch took 32 days due to bad advice, will be annoyed if I don't get the cashback.0 -
Switch 3rd Feb incentive paid today. Reasonably painless for me apart from one call which took 40 mins. Hubbies is a different story soooooo many phone calls, branch visits and now problems with the secure key. Switched today so will probably get the incentive next month but we will see, if anything goes wrong its going to be with his!!!0
