Account opened (in branch) 1 February. Switch date 22 February. £120 in account today (24 March). Fairly straightforward once I gave up with online application.
Thanks to all!On a mission.0 -
(finally) switched on 24th Feb. incentive paid into my account yesterday 23rd March. I was going to keep the account for the saver, but will probably use it as a donor now. HSBC are the worst I've dealt with so far.0

Has this happened to anyone else?
My account was switched on 22nd Feb and £120 was credited that day with the narrative "Advised".
I've just logged onto my account and a further £120 has been credited on 23rd March with the narrative "HSBC Switch offer"
Obviously I would love both £120, but I'm thinking it's an error?0 -
I'd just keep quiet. Don't expose yourself to an unauthorised overdraft, though - i.e. keep a reserve in the account for a year or so. May be delete you post, as bans are reading this forum0

I have done other switches which I am sure have taken less time than this one, however I applied over the phone and when the switch is complete it will have taken 5 weeks and 1 day. The following is a chronological order of events:-
11th January I applied for the account over the phone and was told I was successful and paperwork re specimen signature would be sent out.
23rd January, (Saturday), paperwork arrived which included my account number and sort code, plus my customer ID from the original phone call, I signed it and returned, although being a Saturday it would not have been picked up until Monday 25th January.
28th January I phoned to check on progress and to see if the paperwork had arrived, it had and I was assured that the incentive would be paid as I had applied during the offer period and as long as the switch started within that period there would not be a problem.
01st February I phoned and set up my telephone pin and requested the "secure key", I was told this would be sent out to me within 5 working days.
03rd February debit card arrived, I called HSBC to confirm account opening date and was told this was 01st February. I asked to be transferred to the account switching team who told me they needed to send out the switching terms then they would call me back to arrange the switch, a provisional switching date was given as 16th February and they would call me Monday morning 08th February to confirm receipt of switch terms and to start the switch.
05th February PIN arrived.
06th February "secure key" arrived.
08th February they had not called me in the morning so I called them at 1420, told them the terms had arrived, (they hadn't but they are the same as all others), and they started the process with a switch date of 16th February.
.Today, 16th February. as promised the switch has taken place, so now just need to set up the regular saving account and wait for the £120.
.
Just logged into my HSBC account, the £120 incentive is showing as deposited 23rd March, (I was on the site on 24th and it was not showing?).
So 72 days from being told application was accepted,(11th January), 51 days from account opening date, (01st February), and 36 days from account switching date,(16th February), to incentive being paid.
.Don`t steal - the Government doesn`t like the competition0 -
My account was opened on the 25th Feb, switch completed on the 16th March incentive paid on the 23rd March. They must be catching up on the backlog ! Just been accepted for the M&S account so will be switching away quickly :jAugust 2010 debt amount £41596
August 2015 debt £2598
Target DFD [STRIKE]October 2015 [/STRIKE] Amended this to May 2016 :j
Mortgage free date: January 2015 :j
Savings goal. £3400 / £13372 :T0 -
Finally paid on 23rd March, as others above, after applying in early January. Was a bit of a faff, but probably still £30/hr from my perspective. Plus it got me access to another 6% regular saver.0

Finally got paid last week, after a multitude of problems. Still worth the money, but by far the most awkward account I've ever opened.0

I did wonder why this topic was still up on the board 2 months after the deadline, reading through sounds like a bit of a nightmare!0

I still haven't received incentive or even bank card.
Applied start of feb
15th Feb received a letter asking me to sign and return
9th March received a letter dated 25th Feb saying account open so immediately called to do the switch.
15th March called back about switch to confirm I wished to proceed
23rd March switch took place
05/04/16 Sent a letter of complaint to HSBC as the terms stated switch needed to occur within 30 days for incentive but by their timeline of responding above that was impossible unless account opening date is 25th Feb (going by what I've read on here that looks unlikely) and I still haven't got a bank card or PIN
11/04/16 still no bank card
Hard to believe these guys own First Direct as it's a shambles for opening an account0
