  • Hi,

I've got a couple of old accounts with Lloyds I've just logged on to see they are still there. I can't see if it's a current account or a savings account. Will this matter if I use a Lloyds Savings account as the one to transfer to HSBC?

    Thanks

Was rejected for the Advance account in the summer (never been rejected for any kind of account before!) so will go for the basic one this time.

The offer is for switching of a current account only. If your online banking doesn't make it clear whether your Lloyds accounts are current or savings, ask Lloyds.

Makes no reference to DD requirements or monthly funding in the T&C's, unusual but welcome.

But on this page it says "To be eligible for the HSBC Bank Account you must be over 18 and pay in at least £500 per month into the account each month." so you may have to fund it untill the £120.00 is paid

Looking at the advance account as I would be interested in the 6% savings as well but, unusually, I can't see any requirement for having DDs set up. Have I missed it or are there really no requirements?

If it transpires that you need to pay your wages in as well, that would be a dealbreaker.

On the form where it asks,,will your regular income be paid into this account (i.e pay) did you say yay or nay?? I think this question could be a deal breaker..
I said yes. Income will be paid in. And it has been, just not my salary.

We have successfully received your completed application. However, we need to review it further. We will write to you using the contact details you provided in this application, within the next five days.

Sigh, really? Even for a bog-standard basic account?

DragonQ - when did you apply? My wife and I applied on Jan 1st and we've heard nothing. I'm beginning to wonder if our applications have got lost...
