  • Well spotted Colsten! :)

The difference with this offer compared to the previous one, apart from the lack of the additional ISA offer, is that there is a choice of three different eligible current accounts. You can choose from the Premier, Advance or HSBC bank account.

The HSBC bank account requires a minimum of £500 to be deposited monthly, unless you're under 24 where it doesn't apply. So this should hopefully make things easier for those who were refused for the previous offer, with the £1750 monthly deposits, to try and grab that lovely £120! :D

Thank you for posting this Colsten.

I've not been inside a HSBC branch for some years now; do they have similar deposit machines to NatWest where you can pay in coins and notes at the same time without using the counter service?

    Thanks!

Edit: should've checked the HSBC website first!

  • HSBC £120 switching offer,
Have looked at the T/C but unsure about one point,
    Eligibility criteria:
3a states, apply for an eligible account during the offer period 29 Dec to 28 Feb.

3d then states, complete full switch within 30days of account being opened.

Does this mean as long as the account is opened before the 28 Feb I still have 30days to do a switch? Which could take me to the end of March and still get my £120?
I do understand the offer could be pulled if I hang around its just that I need to sort out a new basic account to switch.
Thanks for any direction on this one.
I choose the rooms that I live in with care,
The windows are small and the walls almost bare,
    There's only one bed and there's only one prayer;
I listen all night for your step on the stair.

I closed loads of un-used accounts a few weeks ago, if I open a new basic account, can I switch straight away?

As of now, yes, but as per their terms, HSBC may withdraw their offer without notice at any time before Feb 28. It's an offer for "as long as stocks last", i.e. for as long as it takes for HSBC to attract their undisclosed number of new current account holders.

What sort of accounts did you close? With whom? Which account do you want to switch from whom to whom?
  • Has anyone seen anything in the T&C's about if you've switched away from them, when would you be eligible to switch back? x
