So sorry to hear this Emz.
    I will be very blunt.
I so wish you would just go bankrupt & just be done with it.
Your health is the important thing by far & you put way way too much pressure on yourself. Take this in the spirit in which it is meant :A
I will reserve my thoughts on your OH's parents yet again.
I think you know anyway

Sorry, beanielou, but I can't agree with you on the bankruptcy subject which you have returned to several times:o. That's a shame as I love your posts and always agree with so much of what you say. It was an option I considered when I was in dire financial straits (even more dire than I am now;)) but discounted it fairly early on so I'm speaking from a certain amount of experience.

I know it's an option and has to be considered along with other ways but it's by no means the best action for everyone. It needs a lot of thought especially as it could impinge on OH's future financial status too if there are debts in common. Maybe in this case it might be best but only Emz and OH would know that;)

Thank you - don't mean to make you worry, sorry :(

I've not been too good. Started a few weeks back. Just wasn't sleeping very well and kept waking up with a dry mouth and throat during the night. Thought it might be tonsillitis, but it wasn't. Started getting really bad headaches when I got up in the morning. Went off my food as it tasted funny and lost half a stone pretty quickly. Tired all the time as I wasn't sleeping much.

My chest was also tighter than usual, but not in a way I've had before. My heart was racing (and I mean really racing), which didn't help. Anyway, turns out I'd been taking my ventolin inhaler too much. I'd been using it as a little boost for my lungs when I started work or had to do a bit of walking. My doctor said to use it when needed, but I didn't think it would do this to me.

I've not had it for a couple of days, but still feel rubbish. My heart rate has slowed down, but I'm still getting the headaches and dry mouth. I'm getting a bit more sleep now and am trying to eat more. I was off sick Monday because I was being sick, managed to drag myself in Weds and Thurs, but was off again yesterday. I'm due in today, but don't think I'll make it. I've got another headache and the room spins when I stand up. Not good if you've got to be on your feet for 6 hours.

Work have been pretty good. I had to cancel all my overtime as 8 hour days were definitely out of the question.

I've been thinking about looking online for some earning opportunities so I can go back to being self-employed and quit working. It would be so much easier if I didn't have to drag myself into work when I'm feeling like this. I feel bad for letting them down and making my colleagues cover me. It's not fair on them or me.

My plan at the moment is to keep to my minimum hours (if I can even do them :() and try to get something in place that earns enough to enable me to quit.

In all this chaos, OH's parents thought it would be a good idea to visit. They are currently residing in our spare room.

    Emz xx

So sorry to hear that you've been so ill, Emz, and are still finding things a struggle. Big hugs coming your way.

Those parents of OH! What's the matter with them? Didn't they know you are so ill? If they did and still insisted in coming to stay I'm afraid to be blunt but OH is not standing up to them enough and supporting you. I know you'll make light of it and put up with things because that's your way, you're never a whinger:A, but he really needs to set some ground rules with them. Unless they've come to help you while you are ill, of course. Knowing what I do about them though I doubt it:(

Take really good care of yourself Emz, whatever it takes:A.

    Sorry we cant agree carbootcrazy.
I just feel that in Emz's case that the financial pressure that comes from being in debt may not help her long term & enduring health problem.
Of course I realise it is a personal thing for everyone but it used to be when I was involved in debt advice that it was put forward that if someone had substantial debt & no realistic way of paying it off within a reasonable time scale it was a very real option.

I hope I haven't upset or offended you, beanielou. That's the last thing I wanted:o

I agree with you, it is an option, I considered it myself, but there are other alternatives too. Just like you, I want anything that would lessen the stress and worry and not add to Emz's health problems.

    Thanks everyone :)

I can't ever see myself going bankrupt, but that's just my personal choice. I know it's there as an option though.

On a brighter note, OH's parents have gone. They did actually help OH out with some housework whilst they were here. They also took him out yesterday so I could have some peace and quiet (he is naturally a very loud person!!)

Just watching some tennis whilst doing my meds.

Still tired. Think I got a bit more sleep, but not much. Chest feels a bit better today, not as tight. Had a headache again this morning though. It goes once I've taken a couple of tablets and doesn't return until the next morning though.

Our new sofa is finally being delivered next week (fingers crossed!!). We've put the sofa that came with the house in the garage so just need to get rid of our sofa now. Can't even give it away!! It's not in very good condition, but it's still very comfy, so would only need a throw on it to make it look presentable. Our friend reckons he could fit it in his big car to take it to the tip if necessary.

Back to work tomorrow. It's only a 4 hour shift, so I will try and go in. I'm going to ask about dropping my Sundays (I had to sign something when I started to say I would work Sundays, I can change that if I wish and refuse to do them). It would mean dropping my hours, but I can find something to make up the money from home. Will see what my boss says.

    Emz xx
